ELASTOMERIC LAYER FABRICATION FOR LIGHT EMITTING DIODES
An elastomeric interface layer (elayer) is formed over multiple light emitting diode (LED) dies by depositing photoresist materials across multiple LED dies, and using the LED dies as a photolithography mask to facilitate formation of the elayer on each LED die. The elayer facilitates adhesive attachment of each LED die with a pick and place head (PPH), allowing the LED dies to be picked up and placed onto a display substrate including control circuits for sub-pixels of an electronic display. In some embodiments, the LED dies are micro-LED (LED) dies.

Transfer printing using ultrasound
Embodiments of the invention pertain to methods useful in transfer printing of small objects, like micro-LEDs from one substrate to another using acoustic or ultrasonic energy. The pickup of objects from a substrate is performed by transfer head equipped with sticky polymer and an array of ultrasonic transducers, and the high efficiency and selectivity of pickup of selected objects is done using ultrasonic energy directed towards the object. The disposing of objects to another substrate from a transfer head is done by directing an ultrasonic energy toward an object, which enable effective and selective detachment of an object from a sticky polymer. Yet another embodiment also uses a UV light source, which directs the light to the UV curable liquid disposed around the object on receiving substrate, thus curing this liquid would attach an object to receiving substrate.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING PLURALITY OF ELECTRONIC CIRCUITS
A method of manufacturing a plurality of electronic circuits is disclosed. Each electronic circuit comprises a respective first portion, comprising a respective group of contact pads, and a respective integrated circuit, IC, comprising a respective group of terminals and mounted on the respective group of contact pads with each terminal in electrical contact with a respective contact pad. The method comprises: providing a first structure comprising the plurality of first portions; providing a second structure comprising the plurality of ICs and a common support arranged to support the plurality of ICs; transferring said ICs from the common support onto a first roller; transferring said ICs from the first roller onto a second roller; and transferring said ICs from the second roller onto the first structure such that each group of terminals is mounted on a respective group of contact pads.

LED MODULE AND METHOD FOR FABRICATING THE SAME
Disclosed is a method for fabricating an LED module. The method includes: constructing a chip-on-carrier including a chip retainer having a horizontal bonding plane and a plurality of LED chips in which electrode pads are bonded to the bonding plane of the chip retainer; and transferring the plurality of LED chips in a predetermined arrangement from the chip retainer to a substrate by transfer printing. The transfer printing includes: primarily section-wise exposing a transfer tape to reduce the adhesive strength of the transfer tape such that bonding areas are formed at predetermined intervals on the transfer tape; and pressurizing the transfer tape against the LED chips on the chip retainer to attach the LED chips to the corresponding bonding areas of the transfer tape and detaching the electrode pads of the LED chips from the chip retainer to pick up the chips.

HIGH REGISTRATION PARTICLES-TRANSFERRING SYSTEM
Disclosed herein are implementations of a particles-transferring system, particle transferring unit, and method of transferring particles in a pattern. In one implementation, a particles-transferring system includes a first substrate including a first surface to support particles in a pattern, particle transferring unit including an outer surface to be offset from the first surface by a first gap, and second substrate including a second surface to be offset from the outer surface by a second gap. The particle transferring unit removes the particles from the first surface in response to the particles being within the first gap, secures the particles in the pattern to the outer surface, and transports the particles in the pattern. The second substrate removes the particles in the pattern from the particle transferring unit in response to the particles being within the second gap. The particles are to be secured in the pattern to the second surface.
