Heat resistant athletic shoe insole and outsole

An insole and/or outsole for a shoe such as an athletic shoe or cleat that includes a multilayer channeled assembly designed at preventing the transfer of heat from extremely hot ground surfaces, most notably synthetic turf, to the foot. In one embodiment, the insole includes a channeled layer of solid material with a very low thermal conductivity, preferably silicon or cork, as the base material beneath a layer of heat resistant felt preferably made of oxidized polyacrylonitrile fibers. The channeling in the base layer allows for air pockets to be created within the insole itself that makes the heat resistant felt more resistant to (i.e., efficient at preventing) the transfer of heat. In another embodiment, the outsole for a shoe such as an athletic shoe or cleat includes a base layer of channeled solid material with low thermal conductivity, silicon, cork, or polystyrene, below a layer of heat resistant felt.

A sole structure includes a midsole component including a midsole body, a plurality of traction members, and a securing layer. The midsole body defines an outer midsole surface and an inner midsole surface opposite the outsole midsole surface. The traction members are coupled to the midsole body. Each of the traction members includes a base and a traction body protruding from the base away from the inner midsole surface. The traction body extends through the midsole body, and the base abuts the inner midsole surface. As such, that the traction members are movable relative to the midsole body. The securing layer is disposed over the base, and is coupled to the inner midsole surface to hold the plurality of traction members in contact with the midsole component.

Stacked cushioning arrangement for sole structure

A sole structure for an article of footwear is provided. The sole structure includes an outsole having a ground-engaging surface and an upper surface formed on an opposite side of the outsole than the ground-engaging surface. A first cushion is disposed proximate to a medial side of the sole structure and includes a first fluid-filled chamber attached to the upper surface of the outsole and a second fluid-filled chamber attached to the first fluid-filled chamber and disposed between the first fluid-filled chamber and the upper. A second cushion is disposed proximate to a lateral side of the sole structure and includes a third fluid-filled chamber attached to the upper surface of the outsole and a fourth fluid-filled chamber attached to the third fluid-filled chamber and disposed between the third fluid-filled chamber and the upper. The second cushion is fluidly isolated from the first cushion.
