Disclosed is a tielayer composition having an epoxy-containing compound, a polythiol curing agent, a curing catalyst, and a solvent present in an amount of at least 25% by weight, based on the total weight of the tielayer composition. Also disclosed is a tielayer comprising the tielayer composition in a cured state. Also disclosed is a coated substrate. The substrate has at least one coatable surface and a tielayer formed from the tielayer composition applied to at least one surface of the substrate and cured thereon. The substrate may be footwear. Also disclosed is a method for forming a bond between two substrates.

On opposite sides of the heel region, an upper midsole (2) of a greater hardness has a thickness greater than a thickness of a lower midsole (3) of a smaller hardness. In a central part of the heel region, the lower midsole (3) of a smaller hardness has a thickness greater than a thickness of the upper midsole (2) of a greater hardness. Boundary surfaces (2B, 3A) between the upper midsole (2) and the lower midsole (3) do not appear on a top surface of the midsole structure (1) (that is, a foot sole contact surface (2A) of the upper midsole (2)).

The method also includes positioning a plurality of traction elements into corresponding cavities formed into a first mold surface and positioning the substrate on the first mold surface to change a shape of the substrate. At least one of heat and pressure is applied to the first strand portion, the second strand portion, the substrate, and the traction elements to conform the substrate to the shape of the first mold surface and form the traction elements into the substrate at each of the discrete regions. The method also includes incorporating the substrate into an article of footwear.

The sheet extends at least partially over the second sidewall.
