PARTICULATE FOAM IN COATED CARRIER
An article of footwear includes an upper, an outsole attached to the upper, and a midsole. The outsole is attached to the upper and includes a ground-engaging surface and an inner surface disposed on an opposite side of the outsole than the ground-engaging surface. The midsole includes a footbed and a bottom surface disposed on an opposite side of the midsole than the footbed and opposing the inner surface of the outsole to define a cavity therebetween. The article of footwear also includes a casing received within the casing and defining an interior void. The interior void contains a first quantity of particulate matter movable relative to the casing and a second quantity of particulate matter attached to the casing.
PARTICULATE FOAM WITH FLEXIBLE CASING
An article of footwear includes an upper, a midsole attached to the upper, and an outsole. The midsole has a footbed and a bottom surface disposed on an opposite side of the midsole than the footbed. The outsole has a ground-engaging surface, an inner surface disposed on an opposite side of the outsole than the ground-engaging surface, and a wall extending from the ground-engaging surface and surrounding the outsole. The article of footwear also includes a casing containing particulate matter and having a length that is greater than a length of the outsole. The casing includes a first fold at a predetermined location along its length. The casing is received within a cavity bounded by the wall of the outsole and between the bottom surface and the inner surface.
PARTICULATE FOAM WITH PARTIAL RESTRICTION
An article of footwear includes an upper, an outsole, and a midsole disposed between the upper and the outsole. The outsole is attached to the upper and has a ground-engaging surface. The midsole has a series of walls that define a series of channels extending substantially perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the midsole and along an entire length of the midsole. The series of channels are isolated from one another and each channel receives a quantity of particulate matter therein.
PARTICULATE FOAM WITH PARTIAL RESTRICTION
An article of footwear includes an upper, an outsole attached to the upper, and a midsole disposed between the upper and the outsole. The outsole includes a ground-engaging surface, an inner surface formed on an opposite side of the outsole than the ground-engaging surface, and a wall surrounding a perimeter of the outsole. The wall cooperates with the inner surface to define a cavity. The midsole includes a footbed and a bottom surface disposed on an opposite side of the midsole than the footbed and opposing the inner surface of the outsole. The article of footwear also includes fibers received within the cavity. The fibers cooperate with one another to form a mesh that at least partially fills the cavity. The article of footwear also includes particulate matter disposed within the cavity and received within interstitial spaces of the mesh.
Sole Structure And Shoe Including Same
An outsole includes a substantially flat reference surface formed on a lower side of the outsole, and studs projecting downward from the reference surface and each having a projection surface positioned below the reference surface. Midsole hollows are provided in a lower portion of a midsole. The midsole hollows are each defined between an upper portion of the outsole and an associated one of midsole recesses formed in a lower surface of a lower midsole at positions facing upper sides of the studs.
TORSION-RESISTANT THREE-DENSITY HIGH RIGIDITY MIDSOLE
A torsion-resistant three-density high rigidity midsole includes a midsole body having a front region, a back region, and a middle region integrally connected between the front and back regions. The front region has a front region density and a front region length. The back region has a back region length, and a back region density smaller than the front region density. The middle region has a middle region length, and a middle region density greater than the front region density. A sum of the front and middle region lengths is greater than the back region length. A cushion body is integrally formed on a top surface of the midsole body, and covers the front, middle and back regions. An elastic piece is sandwiched between the top surface of the midsole body and a bottom surface of the cushion body at a position corresponding to the middle region.
Composite plate for an article of footwear or equipment
A method for forming a plate includes attaching a first strand portion to a flexible substrate to form a first layer on the substrate and positioning a second strand portion on the first layer to form a second layer on the first layer in a plurality of discrete regions on the substrate. The method also includes positioning a plurality of traction elements into corresponding cavities formed into a first mold surface and positioning the substrate on the first mold surface to change a shape of the substrate. At least one of heat and pressure is applied to the first strand portion, the second strand portion, the substrate, and the traction elements to conform the substrate to the shape of the first mold surface and form the traction elements into the substrate at each of the discrete regions. The method also includes incorporating the substrate into an article of footwear.
Article with sole structure having multiple components
An article of footwear has a sole structure with multiple components. The sole structure includes a midsole member, an outsole member and an exterior support member. The midsole member and the outsole member have corresponding grooves. The exterior support member provides reinforcement for the midsole member. The outsole member includes a plurality of bristle members.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A MIDSOLE FORMED FROM TWO PREFORMS
A method of manufacturing a midsole for an article of footwear includes placing first and second preforms in a first mold, closing and heating the first mold to produce a midsole preform with a peripheral preform flange, removing the midsole preform from the first mold and allowing it to further expand and cool, placing the midsole preform in a second mold, with a volume of a midsole recess of the second mold being less than a volume of the midsole preform, and a volume of a peripheral recess of the second mold being less than a volume of the peripheral preform flange, closing the second mold thereby compressing the midsole preform and the peripheral preform flange, and heating the second mold to form a midsole with a peripheral flange, allowing the second mold to cool, opening the second mold, and cutting away a peripheral flange of the midsole.
FOOTWEAR SOLE STRUCTURE
An article of footwear is provided and includes an upper, a fluid-filled chamber including a first portion in contact with the upper in a first region, and a midsole including a first portion disposed between the fluid-filled chamber and the upper in a second region.
