System and method for integrated deposition and heating
Herein disclosed is a method of manufacturing comprises depositing a composition on a substrate slice by slice to form an object; heating in situ the object using electromagnetic radiation (EMR); wherein said composition comprises a first material and a second material, wherein the second material has a higher absorption of the radiation than the first material. In an embodiment, the EMR has a wavelength ranging from 10 to 1500 nm and the EMR has a minimum energy density of 0.1 Joule/cm.sup.2. In an embodiment, the EMR comprises UV light, near ultraviolet light, near infrared light, infrared light, visible light, laser, electron beam. In an embodiment, said object comprises a catalyst, a catalyst support, a catalyst composite, an anode, a cathode, an electrolyte, an electrode, an interconnect, a seal, a fuel cell, an electrochemical gas producer, an electrolyser, an electrochemical compressor, a reactor, a heat exchanger, a vessel, or combinations thereof.
Brazing methods using porous interlayers and related articles
The disclosure relates to a brazing method for joining substrates, in particular where one of the substrates is difficult to wet with molten braze material. The method includes formation of a porous metal layer on a first substrate to assist wetting of the first substrate with a molten braze metal, which in turn permits joining of the first substrate with a second substrate via a braze metal later in an assembled brazed joint. Ceramic substrates can be particularly difficult to wet with molten braze metals, and the disclosed method can be used to join a ceramic substrate to another substrate. The brazed joint can be incorporated into a solid-oxide fuel cell, for example as a stack component thereof, in particular when the first substrate is a ceramic substrate and the joined substrate is a metallic substrate.

Interconnector with a rugged surface for better tightness
Implementation of an interconnector structure for an SOEC or SOFC electrochemical device, the interconnector being formed of a conductive support element having a first face with a rough region, the roughness of which has been modified locally before being brought into contact with a seal.

FUEL CELL GASKET
A bipolar plate is provided that prevents pressure leaks from occurring at a seal bead. A fuel battery gasket is provided. The gasket is structured to include a pair of metal-made bipolar plates, seal beads, and a tunnel. The bipolar plates are interposed between a plurality of reaction electrode portions. The bipolar plates are fastened together with the reaction electrode portions and thereby joined to each other. The seal beads are provided at one or both of the bipolar plates by being patterned in full-bead forms. The tunnel is bridged between the adjacent seal beads and allows their insides to communicate with each other. When a height of the seal bead is H1 and a height of the tunnel is H2, H1/H2 is set to be equal to or larger than 1.6.
