Embodiments of the present disclosure provides a battery cell, a battery, an electrical device and a device for preparing a battery cell. The battery cell includes a housing being hollow and including an opening, and an end cover assembly includes an end cover and an insulator. The end cover is configured to be connected to the opening of the housing and at least the part of the end cover is inserted into the housing. A part of the end cover inserted into the housing includes an end surface and a first side surface. The end surface is substantially perpendicular to an insertion direction of the end cover. The first side surface is distributed along a periphery of the end surface and is opposite to an inner wall surface of the housing.

Devices for insulating the electrical terminals of cylindrical batteries, such as lithium-ion cells, to prevent the occurrence of shorting. Certain embodiments are directed to devices which cover one or more terminals of the cell, thereby providing an insulative barrier, while still allowing the cell to be used. Various embodiments are described including partially covering the topmost portions of the negatively charged exterior cell case, closest to the positive terminal of the cell, and attaching the covering via a circumferential appendage which locks onto the cell. In another embodiment the cell covering extends axially down the side of the cell case to cover part of, or the entirety of, the side of the negatively charged case.

Welded structure in battery, forming method of the same, secondary battery cell and secondary battery module

A plating layer 4 is formed on a surface of a battery cover 3, and a peripheral edge part 37b of a cover case 37 is arranged on an upper surface of the plating layer 4. A welding part 40 is formed at a tip part of the peripheral edge part 37b. The welding part 40 includes a melted part 41 in which the tip of the peripheral edge part 37b is melted, and an elution part 42 flowing from the tip onto the plating layer 4, and the melted part 41 and the elution part 42 are welded to the plating layer 4 in the upper surface of the plating layer 4.

FLAT BATTERY

A flat battery (1) includes a positive electrode can (10), a negative electrode can (20), a positive electrode material (41), a negative electrode material (42), and a positive electrode ring (44) provided on an inner surface of a bottom (11) of the positive electrode can (10) to hold one of the positive electrode material (41) and the negative electrode material (42). The positive electrode ring (44) has a side wall (44a) and a flange (44b) that extends outward to overlap an open end of a circumferential wall (22) of the negative electrode can (20). The flange (44b) is placed between the open end of the circumferential wall (22) of the negative electrode can (20) and the inner surface of the bottom (11) of the positive electrode can (10).

Cylindrical batteries

A cylindrical battery with an electrode assembly, an electrolytic solution, a bottomed cylindrical exterior case accommodating the electrode assembly and the electrolytic solution, and a sealing unit fixed by crimping of an open end portion of the exterior case via a gasket. The sealing unit includes a valve member which has a protrudent portion that is annular in plan view, an insulating plate which is fitted within the inner periphery of the protrudent portion and which has an outer peripheral skirt portion, and a metal plate which is fixed within the inner periphery of the skirt portion of the insulating plate and which is connected to a central portion of the valve member. The tip of the protrudent portion is located at a level which does not reach the level of a second surface portion of the metal plate in the direction of thickness of the sealing unit.

Cylindrical batteries

A cylindrical battery with an electrode assembly, an electrolytic solution, a bottomed cylindrical exterior case accommodating the electrode assembly and the electrolytic solution, and a sealing unit fixed by crimping of an open end portion of the exterior case via a gasket. The sealing unit includes a valve member which has a protrudent portion that is annular in plan view, an insulating plate which is fitted within the inner periphery of the protrudent portion and which has an outer peripheral skirt portion, and a metal plate which is fixed within the inner periphery of the skirt portion of the insulating plate and which is connected to a central portion of the valve member. The tip of the protrudent portion is located at a level which does not reach the level of a second surface portion of the metal plate in the direction of thickness of the sealing unit.
