An apparatus with vehicle radar control includes a radio frequency (RF) transceiver including a transmitting antenna array and a receiving antenna array, and at least one processor configured to collect environmental information of the vehicle, determine a radar mode of the vehicle based on the collected environmental information, generate one or more control signal configured to control one or more of the transmitting antenna array and the receiving antenna array based on the determined radar mode, and provide the generated one or more control signals to the RF transceiver, wherein one or more of the transmitting antenna array and the receiving antenna array operate according to the one or more generated control signals.
Wireless instrument area network node with internal force sensor
A wireless instrument area network node employs an internal force sensor arrangement to detect user-provided force on the node and initiate a node operation, such as wake the node from a sleep state or low power mode to a more power-hungry awake and processing state. The internal force sensor avoids the need to provide external buttons, a screen, and the like on the surface of the node that could lead to intrusion of fluids, gases, or other unwanted substances into the node. In some embodiments, the internal sensor may include a microswitch that has sufficient sensitivity to detect even a very small amount of deflection resulting from, for example, a hand touch. In some embodiments, the internal sensor may include a piezoelectric sensor that has similarly high deflection sensitivity. Multiple such deflection detectors may be at different angles to one another deployed to provide greater directional coverage for the deflection.
Patch antenna device
A patch antenna device configured to receive a radio communication signal includes a circuit board, a patch antenna, and a parasitic element. The circuit board has a signal processing circuit placed thereon. The patch antenna is stacked on the circuit board and has a quadrangular radiation element. The parasitic element is disposed above the patch antenna so as to improve antenna gain characteristics of the patch antenna and configured such that the length of the upper side of the parasitic element is shorter than the width in a plan view of the radiation element of the patch antenna and that the length between the upper and lower sides of the parasitic element is longer than the length between the upper and lower sides of the radiation element of the patch antenna.
