A snap fastener system includes a conductive first snap fastener portion in electrical and physical contact with a first electronic component, a second snap fastener portion, and a snap ring including tines mated to one of the first and/or second snap fastener portions and including one or more conductive insulation displacement tines which cut through the insulation covering a wire to be electrically coupled to the first electronic component.

Conductive terminal and connector

A conductive terminal comprises a body and a pair of first elastic cantilevers adapted to clamp a first conductor. The pair of first elastic cantilevers are connected to the body and accommodated within a first accommodation chamber formed in the body. Each first elastic cantilever or the body has a first elastic support structure. A free end of each first elastic cantilever is elastically supported on an inner wall of the first accommodation chamber by the first elastic support structure when the first conductor is clamped between the pair of first elastic cantilevers.

A connecting method includes: arranging the connection terminal such that a rear surface of a base portion in a flat plate shape of the connection terminal comes into contact with a front surface of the flexible substrate; with a rising portion of the connection terminal extending from the rear surface side of the base portion toward the base portion and a tip end bending portion of the connection terminal extending from a tip end of the rising portion in a direction inclined with respect to the rising portion, displacing the rising portion toward the base portion so that the tip end bending portion protrudes from a front surface of the base portion; and holding a part of the flexible substrate between a pressing portion formed at the rising portion and a pressed portion formed at the base portion, whereby the conductive portion of the flexible substrate is electrically connected to at least one of the pressing portion and the pressed portion.

This disclosure provides a method and apparatus for connecting and disconnecting various electrical components. More specifically, an apparatus that includes an electrical contact and an insulated housing. In an embodiment, the electrical contact includes a first insulation displacement contact, a second insulation displacement contact, and a motion-force portion. The motion-force portion is configured to allow the electrical contact to be actuated around a central axis and relative to the insulated housing. The first and second insulation displacement contacts allow for the electrical contact to create an electrical and mechanical connection between respective wires when the electrical contact is rotated. A rotary insulation displacement contact (IDC) junction connector allows for two wires to be reliably and safely connected in environments where space is limited.

The terminal has a shape that is asymmetrical in a direction in which the multiple substrate connection portions are arranged side by side.

Connector

A connector includes terminals (14) connected to terminal ends of electrical wires (12); a housing (20) including a terminal housing chamber (21) in which the terminals (14) are housed and an electrical wire lead-out portion (24) from which the electrical wires (12) are led out. A first cover (50A) covers the electrical wires (12) led out from the electrical wire lead-out portion (24), and a second cover (50B) causes the electrical wires (12) to be inserted between the second cover 50B itself and the first cover (50A) in a state of being assembled to the first cover (50A). At least one of the first and second covers (50A, 50B) includes electrical wire pressing portions (56A, 56B) that press the electrical wires (12) led out from the electrical wire lead-out portion (24) when the first and second covers (50A, 50B) are assembled together.

Connector

A connector includes terminals (14) connected to terminal ends of electrical wires (12); a housing (20) including a terminal housing chamber (21) in which the terminals (14) are housed and an electrical wire lead-out portion (24) from which the electrical wires (12) are led out.
