Provided is an electrical connector for flat conductor which includes: a housing, terminals, a slider, and a movable member, the slider is attached to the housing such that the slider is movable in the longitudinal direction between a retreat position and a forward position the movable member is attached to the housing such that the movable member is rotatable between an open position and a closed position, the movable member has a cam part, and a front-side pressing part of the cam part presses the slider toward a front side when the movable member rotates in a closing direction, a rear-side pressing part of the cam part presses the slider to a rear side when the movable member rotates in an opening direction, and a rotation center of the movable member is located in a range of the cam part in the longitudinal direction when viewed in the lateral direction.

CARD EDGE CONNECTOR AND ELECTRONIC SYSTEM

A connector for high density, high speed, and high performance electronic systems. The connector has multiple slots, each of which can receive a card. Terminals disposed on opposite sides of each slot connect the card inserted therein to a motherboard on which the connector is mounted. Each slot has a latch disposed at an end for retaining the card inserted therein when the latch is locked and releasing the card from the slot when the latch is unlocked. The connector has a reinforcing members configured to enhance the mechanical strength of the housing. Terminal tails are configured for solder ball attachments such that the terminals of adjacent slots are disposed closer. The tails are also configured such that a smaller solder area is needed on the motherboard. Such configurations improve signal integrity at higher speed and increases the tolerance of errors in the manufacturing process.

The connector has a housing and a retainer. The retainer is accommodated in the housing and has a base portion and a front upper beam extending forward from the base portion and positioned above an insertion passage of a flat cable. The upper beam includes a middle portion positioned in the middle of the upper beam and a forward extending portion extending forward from the middle portion. The middle portion has an engaging portion configured to engage an engaged portion of the cable, and at least a portion is positioned in the passage of the cable. A region is provided in the leading end of the extending portion above the leading end of the extending portion for restricting upward movement. The upper beam is elastically deformable so that the middle portion moves upward when the upward movement of the leading end of the extending portion is restricted by the region.

Another embodiment includes a memory module defining a stepped slot configured to accept a memory module, and a memory module comprising a printed circuit board and a plurality of components mounted on the printed circuit board, wherein the wherein the stepped slot in the memory module connector is configured so that at least one of the plurality of components mounted on the printed circuit board is positioned in the stepped slot. In an electrical connector, it is possible to more reliably suppress unexpected displacement of an actuator, and it is possible to more reliably bring contacts into contact with conductive portions of a flexible connection member. The actuator (20) of the electrical connector (11) is configured such that pressure contact between the contacts (21) and the flexible connection member (8) is canceled by the actuator (20) being arranged at an open position (A1), and the contacts (21) are brought into pressure contact with the flexible connection member (8) by the actuator (20) being arranged at a closed position (A2). A provisional holding mechanism (51) can hold the actuator (20) at a provisional hold position (A3) when the flexible connection member (8) is not connected to the electrical connector (11). The provisional holding mechanism (51) includes first engagement portions (52) provided on a housing (22), and second engagement portions (53) provided on the actuator (20). Engagement of the first engagement portions (52) and the second engagement portions (53) is prevented by insertion of the flexible connection member (8) between the housing (22) and the actuator (20).

Pressing member and electrical connector assembly

A pressing member is used for downwardly pressing on a chip module. The pressing member has a main body and a central opening going through the main body. The main body has an upper surface and a lower surface opposite to the upper surface. The central opening is provided for a part portion of the chip module going through. The pressing member has a pressing portion protrudes upwardly from the upper surface and provided for an external device pressing downwardly on to make the main body press downwardly on the chip module so as to prevent the chip module from warping.
