Belt Ratcheting Device with Hidden Blade IV
20240138531 · 2024-05-02 ·

The Belt Ratcheting Device with Hidden Blade-IV (HB-IV) facilitates unidirectional belt fastening and fast release. The HB-IV includes a turning gate rotatably installed diagonally in a channel. The turning gate has been installed with a hidden blade which controls the belt's translation by engaging the lower belt surface to avoid visible scratches. The turning gate is connected to a lever. The HB-IV has two states: active and inactive. In the active state the device works as a belt ratchet by allowing the belt to be pulled forwards while restricting any belt motion backwards. In the inactive state the belt's motion is facilitated in both directions. The HB-IV states are manually controlled by the lever. After fastening, the belt remains fastened until released. The HB-IV can be adapted to any kind of smooth leather, cloth or synthetic belts. The blade's hidden position and smooth channel's surfaces minimize belt's wear and scratches.

The Lace Ratchet Device (LRD) facilitates lace fastening and release. The LRD has two states: active and inactive. In the active position the device works as a lace ratchet i.e. allowing the lace to be pulled forwards but restricting any lace motion backwards. After fastening the lace remains fastened until the LRD is switched into inactive state by manually pressing a lever. Each LRD has a turning gate rotatably installed in a channel with front end with sharp edge. A preloaded spring keeps the LRD in active position when the lever is not pressed. The LRD doesn't employ serrated surfaces, which cause accelerated lace wear. Instead, the LRD's smooth front edge side and channel surfaces minimize lace wear. Parallel and triangular configurations of LRD pairs facilitate lace fastening of footwear. Single LRDs can be used for fastening of garments and other objects.

Strap buckle

A strap buckle has a base. The base has a bottom plate and two side plates each having one end formed with a pivot hole. The base has a retaining portion spaced from the bottom plate. An opening is defined between the bottom plate and the retaining portion. A swinging member has a pivot portion pivotally connected to the pivot hole. Two opposite sides of the pivot portion have two perforations, respectively. Two transverse rods pass through the perforations and are arranged in parallel. The swinging member is pivoted relative to the base to drive the two transverse rods to rotate together. A pressing assembly has a pressing member and an elastic member. The pressing member is disposed between the two side plates of the base. A first strap is inserted between the bottom plate and the pressing member and wound around the two transverse rods.

Extremity tourniquet with locking buckle

A tourniquet for application to a patient's limb in an emergency situation, and a method for its application. The tourniquet includes a tension-sensing mechanism used to establish a baseline tension in a loop around an injured limb, and a tension-increasing mechanism to reduce the circumference of the loop and tighten the tourniquet as required beyond the baseline tension. The tension-sensing mechanism may be incorporated in a buckle in which when sufficient tension is developed in the loop a pin protrudes to engage and maintain tension in a strap member which is part of the loop. A latch may be incorporated in the buckle to keep it in a condition in which the pin protrudes to engage the strap and maintain the baseline tension. A release tab operable to release the latch is located where it is protected against inadvertent operation.

STRAP ADJUSTMENT SYSTEM

A strap adjustment system has a base body having a bottom wall, two side walls and a strap retaining bar extending between the two side walls, the bottom wall having an aperture therethrough with screw threads extending around an inside surface, and a screw disc having a central protrusion and screw threads extending around the central protrusion. The central protrusion fits through the aperture in the base body by rotating the screw disc so that the threads in the screw disc mate with the threads in the aperture, such that a height of the protrusion above the bottom wall of the base body is adjustable by turning the screw disc. In situations where a high degree of friction is required, the protrusion can be positioned at a maximum height through the aperture, and in situations where a low degree of friction is desired, the protrusion can be positioned lower.
