INTERPOSER HAVING SHIELDED CONTACTS AND TRACES
20220376444 · 2022-11-24 ·

A separable and reconnectable connector for semiconductor devices is provided that is scalable for devices having very small contact pitch. Connectors of the present disclosure include signal pins shielded by pins electrically-coupled to ground. Embodiments provide one or more signal pins in a contact array electrically-shielded by at least one ground pin coupled to a ground plane. Embodiments thereby provide signal pins, either single-ended or a differential pair, usable to transmit signals with reduced noise or cross-talk and thus improved signal integrity. Embodiments further provide inner ground planes coupled to connector ground pins to shield pairs of differential signal pins without increasing the size of the connector. Inner grounding layers can be formed within isolation substrates incorporated into connector embodiments between adjacent pairs of signal pins. These buried ground layers provide additional crosstalk isolation in close proximity to signal pins, resulting in improved signal integrity in a significantly reduced space.

An Ethernet cable assembly including a cable with nine elongated conductors, a first connector and a second connector located on opposing ends of the cable, and a coupler for electrically coupling with one or both of the connectors. The connectors may each include nine pin receptacles electrically coupled with one of the elongated conductors. The nine receptacles may be arranged with one center receptacle surrounded by eight outer receptacles, symmetrically arranged about a line of symmetry passing through the center receptacle, such that when identical first or second connectors of another cable faces one of the first and second connectors, complementary crossover pairs of the receptacles match up with positive receptacles matching positive receptacles and negative receptacles matching negative receptacles. To couple these identical Ethernet connectors with each other, the coupler may have pins simply passing from one side of the coupler housing to another, without any crossover hardware required therein.

ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR SYSTEM WITH CYLINDRICAL TERMINAL BODY

A connector system for electrically connecting a power source to other power distribution components or assemblies, for example in a motor vehicle. This connector system includes a male connector assembly with an electrically conductive male terminal assembly having a male terminal body and an internal spring assembly. The male terminal body includes contact arms with irregular outer peripheries configured to reduce the insertion force associated with the male terminal body. The internal spring assembly includes a spring member and a spring holder that ensures and maintains proper relative positioning or alignment of the internal spring member within the male terminal assembly. The connector system also includes a female connector assembly with a female terminal assembly that receives the male terminal assembly and the spring assembly.

Electrical contact

The invention relates to an electrical contact for an electrical plug connection, said contact having a flexible element between a connecting region fixed in a housing and a movable contact region. In the electrical contact, the movement of the contact region and/or the deformation of the flexible element in the direction of an axis extending parallel to the plugging direction of the contact region is/are limited. Such contacts are provided in particular in power sockets for motor vehicles for creating an electrical connection to a trailer.

The electric connector includes a housing to be fit into a second electric connector, and a cylindrical hollow terminal making contact with a projecting terminal arranged in the second electric connector when the projecting terminal is inserted into the cylindrical hollow terminal, the housing and the cylindrical hollow terminal being formed integrally with each other by an insertion-molding process, the cylindrical hollow terminal being formed with a structure for preventing molten resin from flowing into an area at which the cylindrical hollow terminal and the projecting terminal make contact with each other while the inserting-molding process is being carried out.

Connector

A connector includes: an internal contact disposed at an inner position in a radial direction; an external contact disposed at an outer position in the radial direction; and an insulator disposed between the internal and external contacts. At least one of the internal and external contacts includes, on one side in the axial direction, a mating part to be mated with a corresponding counterpart contact at a predetermined radial contact pressure. The insulator includes a first insulator part exposed to the one side in the axial direction, and a second insulator part disposed on the other side in the axial direction relative to the first insulator part. The first insulator part is made of an elastic material capable of being easily deformed elastically in the radial direction as compared to the second insulator part.

ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR
