Coaxial connector assembly

A coaxial connector assembly is described herein. The coaxial connector assembly includes an inner contact that is configured to terminate a center conductor of a coaxial cable, an insulative inner sleeve holding the inner contact, a tubular outer contact surrounding the inner sleeve and the inner contact, said outer contact configured to terminate a shield braid of the coaxial cable and an insulative cylindrical outer sleeve defining a central cavity extending longitudinally therethrough in which said outer contact is disposed. The cavity has an opening configured to receive a corresponding coaxial connector. A lip on a forward end of the outer sleeve extends into the opening such that a forward edge of the outer contact is not exposed within the opening. The coaxial connector assembly may be configured to meet the FAKRA connector standards.

COAXIAL CABLE CONNECTOR AND METHOD OF USE THEREOF

A coaxial cable connector comprises a signal contact member having an inner conductor connecting portion, a grounding contact member, and an insulating housing for supporting the signal contact member and the grounding contact member in a condition of mutual isolation, wherein the insulating housing is provided with a concavity which has a bottom on which the inner conductor connecting portion of the signal contact member is placed and an opening through which the inner conductor of the coaxial cable is caused to come into contact with the inner conductor connecting portion of the signal contact member placed on the bottom of the concavity and is operative to allow an ultrasonic vibration horn to be put into the concavity through the opening of the concavity for applying ultrasonic vibrations to the inner conductor of the coaxial cable put in contact with the inner conductor connecting portion of the signal contact member.

Three dimensional offset right-angle 1/4-inch audio plug

Common ?-inch audio plugs include straight and right-angle orientations. Neither type is best suited for use with Fender Stratocaster-style guitars, whose output jacks are not surface-mounted but recessed into the body of the instrument. This invention modifies the design of the right-angle plug such that its shape reconciles the contours of Stratocaster-style jack plates with the aesthetic and practical needs of Stratocaster players. This modification occurs by introducing a new angle into the body segment of a right-angle plug, thereby creating two body segments. The proximal body segment (the one closer to the plug's shaft) serves to extend the plug from the recessed jack to the surface of the instrument. The new angle serves to orient the distal body segment (the one closer to the plug's cable) such that it, and the cable protruding therefrom, run exactly or approximately parallel to the surface of the instrument.

The invention relates to a high-frequency angle, connector comprising an external connector (100), an angled external conductor (110), an angled insulator (120), an angled holder (130) and four angled contacts (140) to which electrical conductors can be connected. The angled holder (130) is designed such that the four contacts (140) can be inserted without exerting force. The high-frequency angle connector is preferably a FAKRA connector. The housing (100) of a FAKRA connector corresponds to the DIN 72594-1 standard.

A coaxial connector assembly includes a housing holding an outer contact and a dielectric holder received in the outer contact. The dielectric holder has a mating segment having a front cavity and a cable segment having a cable cavity receiving a cable assembly. The cable assembly has a pin contact. A center contact is received in the front cavity of the dielectric holder. The center contact has a base positioned in the dielectric holder generally at an intersection of the front cavity and the cable cavity. The center contact has deflectable pin beams extending from the base. The pin beams have flared lead-in tips at distal ends of the beams. The base and the pin beams are axially aligned with the cable axis to receive the pin contact.
