High-power ytterbium doped calcium fluoride mode-locked laser and methods of use

A high-power ytterbium-doped calcium fluoride laser system is disclosed herein which includes at least one pump source, at least one laser cavity formed by at least one high reflector and at least one output coupler, and at least one ytterbium-doped calcium fluoride optical crystal positioned within the laser cavity in communication with the pump source, the ytterbium-doped calcium fluoride optical crystal configured to output at least one output signal of at least 20 W, having a pulse width of 200 fs or less, and a repetition rate of at least 40 MHz.

Solid-state laser device

Provided is a solid-state laser device in which a linear resonator including an output mirror and a rear mirror, a laser rod, and optical members are provided on a common base and are contained in a housing having the base as a portion. A holding part is provided to hold an excitation light source that extends parallel to the laser rod on a side of the laser rod opposite to the base. The optical members including a Q-switch are disposed between the laser rod and the rear mirror. An upper end position of the output mirror is at a position lower than a lower end position of the excitation light source held by the holding part, with the base as a reference. The holding part holds the excitation light source so as to be capable of being inserted and extracted with respect to the output mirror side in a longitudinal direction of the excitation light source.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR LASER SYSTEM HAVING NON-PLANAR THIN DISC GAIN MEDIA

The present disclosure relates to a laser system. The laser system may have at least non-flat gain media disc. At least one pump source may be configured to generate a beam that pumps the non-flat gain media disc. A laser cavity may be formed by the pump source and the non-flat gain media disc. An output coupler may be included for receiving and directing the output beam toward an external component.

Amplifier assembly

An amplifier assembly may include a first heat sink plate that includes a first channel, a second heat sink plate that includes a second channel, and an amplifier rod disposed in the first channel and the second channel. The second heat sink plate may be connected with the first heat sink plate such that the first channel and the second channel align. The amplifier rod may be connected to the first heat sink plate and the second heat sink plate by a non-eutectic solder.

The laser apparatus according to the present invention has the effects of cutting a saturable absorber having a specific crystallographic axis to thereby make polarization capacity in one direction advantageous and minimize propagation loss. In addition, the laser apparatus according to the present invention has the effect of maximizing transmittivity maintenance capacity of polarization orientation in one direction by arranging a medium and a saturable medium so as to have a specific inclined plane.

The first distance is half or less of curvature radius of the concave surface. The first member is light transmissive and solid. The first member includes a first portion provided between the first mirror and the second mirror. The first portion is in contact with the first planar surface and the concave surface.

Active element slab for a laser source

An active element slab for a laser source is presented. The active element slab includes at least one input surface of a pump beam, a first section in the shape of an elongated bar along a longitudinal axis that includes a first doped matrix configured to absorb the beam pump to amplify a laser beam travelling longitudinally, a second section that covers at least partially the first section, the second section that includes a second doped matrix configured to absorb the laser beam and of being transparent to the pump beam.

PLANAR WAVEGUIDE LASER DEVICE

In a planar waveguide laser device (1), a substrate (6) is joined to the upper surface of a waveguide (2). A recess (6a) having a chamfered shape is formed along an edge of an end facet of the substrate (6) on the side of the waveguide (2), the end facet being perpendicular to the direction of laser oscillation. An end facet of the waveguide (2) perpendicular to the oscillation direction of laser light is covered with a coating (7). A wraparound portion (7a) continuing from the coating (7) covers the upper surface of the waveguide (2) facing the recess (6a) of the substrate (6).
