Coherent beam combining (CBC) fiber laser amplifier system
A coherently beam combining (CBC) fiber laser amplifier system including beam shaper array assembly and a beam source that provides a plurality of beams having a low fill factor profile. The assembly includes an input beam shaper array having a plurality of input cells positioned adjacent to each other that are shaped to cause the beam to expand as it propagates away from the input array to be converted from the low fill factor profile to a high fill factor profile and cause the profile to taper to a lower value at a perimeter of each input array cell. The assembly further includes an output beam shaper array having a plurality of output cells positioned adjacent to each other that are shaped to cause the beam to stop expanding so that the output array provides a plurality of adjacent beams with minimal overlap and a minimal gap between the beams.

A laser processing apparatus for producing a GaN wafer from a GaN ingot includes a laser beam irradiating unit configured to apply a laser beam having a wavelength capable of passing through the GaN ingot held by a chuck table. The laser beam irradiating unit includes a laser oscillator configured to oscillate the laser beam. The laser oscillator includes a seeder configured to oscillate a high-frequency pulsed laser, a thinning-out unit configured to thin out high-frequency pulses oscillated by the seeder at a predetermined repetition frequency, and generate one burst pulse with a plurality of high-frequency pulses as sub-pulses, and an amplifier configured to amplify the generated burst pulse.

There is provided a photoacoustic measurement apparatus including a laser light source unit that has a flash lamp for emitting excitation light and a laser rod for emitting laser light in response to incidence of the excitation light, an excitation light source power supply unit that has a capacitor bank for supplying a voltage to the flash lamp, an IGBT for controlling an output of the voltage charged in the capacitor bank to the flash lamp, a discharge control circuit for generating a driving pulse for driving the IGBT, and a pulse width limiting circuit for limiting a pulse width of the driving pulse output from the discharge control circuit, the pulse width limiting circuit being formed of a passive element, and a photoacoustic wave detection unit that detects photoacoustic waves generated inside a subject by emission of light emitted from the laser light source unit to the subject.
WAVELENGTH DIVISION MULTIPLEXING (WDM) BEAM SOURCE
A WDM seed beam source for a fiber laser amplifier system that includes a number of master oscillators that generate seed beams at different wavelengths and a spectral multiplexer that multiplexes all of the seed beams onto a single fiber. An EOM modulates the combined seed beams on the single fiber and a spectral demultiplexer then separates the modulated seed beams into their constituent wavelengths on separate fibers before the seed beams are amplified and spectrally combined. The fiber laser amplifier system includes a separate fiber amplifier that amplifies the separated seed beams, an emitter array that directs the amplified beams into free space, beam collimating optics that focuses the uncombined beams, and an SBC grating responsive to the collimated uncombined beams that spatially combines the collimated uncombined beams.

A laser apparatus may include a master oscillator, a plurality of amplifiers, a photodetector device configured to detect a light beam traveling back along a laser beam path, and a controller. The photodetector device may include a first photodetector configured to detect energy of a light beam traveling back along the laser beam path and a second photodetector configured to detect power of the light beam traveling back along the laser beam path. The controller may be configured to determine that a return beam is generated when the intensity of the energy detection signal exceeds a first threshold. The controller may be configured to determine that a self-oscillation beam is generated when the intensity of the power detection signal exceeds a second threshold.

The beam dump module includes: a mirror; a third beam dumper provided such that the laser beam from the mirror enters thereinto; and a second stage that causes the mirror to advance into and retreat from the optical path.

The present invention discloses a high-peak-power single-frequency narrow-linewidth nanosecond fiber laser based on a triangular pulse, wherein the laser includes: pulsed laser generated by the laser seed injecting into a first power pre-amplifier through a first isolator, and then injecting into a second pre-amplifier and then injecting into a power amplifier; wherein triangle-shaped pulsed laser with fast rising edge is obtained by using electro-optic and acousto-optic modulator to modulate continuous wave single-frequency laser or a single-frequency semiconductor laser directly modulated by radio frequency signal; single-frequency triangle-shaped pulsed laser is employed as the laser source according to the characteristics of narrow intrinsic linewidth and suppression of linewidth broadening caused by SPM, and the power of pulsed laser is amplified through the MOPA system.

A device includes a first excitation light source that emits first excitation light, a second excitation light source that emits second excitation light, a wavelength converter that converts signal light of a first wavelength into signal light of a second wavelength according to the first excitation light, and a measurer that measures a frequency difference between the first excitation light and the second excitation light, wherein when an abnormality of the first excitation light is detected, the second excitation light source is adjusted so that a frequency of the second excitation light is aligned with a frequency of the first excitation light before the abnormality detection, based on the frequency difference before the abnormality detection, and the wavelength converter converts the signal light of the first wavelength into the signal light of the second wavelength according to the second excitation light, after adjusting the frequency of the second excitation light.
