A half bridge circuit driver chip and the protection method thereof are provided. The high side voltage detecting circuit connects to a high side signal output terminal and detects the high side turn-on voltage of the high side transistor, so as to obtain a high side turn-on signal. The low side voltage detection circuit connects to a low side signal output terminal and detects a low side turn-on voltage of a low side transistor, so as to obtain a low side turn on signal. When the high side turn-on signal and the low side turn-on signal are received by a protection circuit, a reset signal is generated. The reset signal is sent to the high side driving circuit for turning off the high side transistor and to the low side driving circuit for turning off the low side transistor.

A switch controller selectively executes, based on the result of the determination, a first switch control task and a second switch control task. The first switch control task forcibly shuts down the switch independently of the switching command, and the second switch control task enables the switching operations of the switch to be continuously controlled based on the switching command.

The present disclosure provides a control apparatus of a switch-mode power supply and a switch-mode power supply. In the control apparatus of the present disclosure, a short-circuit protection module is set, and when a switching transistor of the switch-mode power supply is turned on, and the short-circuit protection module detects that a voltage across a current sensing resistor of the switch-mode power supply is less than a predetermined value within a predetermined period, that is, the current sensing resistor is short-circuited, the short-circuit protection module generates a short-circuit protection signal, and a driving controller controls the switching transistor to turn off according to the protection signal, thereby switching off the control apparatus, preventing breakdown of the switch-mode power supply, and avoiding erroneous protection.

In the event of a short circuit in a certain HEMT, a microcomputer connects the source electrode of the first MISFET to the auxiliary power source and outputs an off command to the driver unit.
