At least one of the outer raceway or the inner raceway is movable radially towards or away from the other to adjust the gap and optimize operation of the lubricant supported electric motor.

ELECTRIC SUBMERSIBLE PUMPING UNIT

An electric submersible pump assembly with integral heat exchanger, high-speed self-aligning bearings, and dual bearing thrust chamber is described. The described pump assembly, modules, and components may be used for operating an electric submersible pump at high speeds as well as over a wide range of speeds and flowrates without replacing downhole equipment. The described pump assembly may be shorter than comparable pump assemblies and may be assembled offsite, thereby leading to faster and easier installation with less down time. By operating over a wide range of speeds, the disclosed pump assembly allows the operator to reduce overall inventory, reduce down time for the well, and avoid other complications associated with replacing a pump assembly or other downhole components.

Motor and actuator unit

A motor comprises: a shaft; a permanent magnet rotor in which a permanent magnet and a gear member 32 are united; and a stator, arranged facing the permanent magnet. The gear member 32 has a pinion 33 and a mounting part 34. The mounting part 34 has: a circumferential-direction constraining part 34a, which constrains the circumferential movement of the permanent magnet; axial-direction constraining parts 34b, 34c, which abut both the top and bottom surfaces of the permanent magnet, so as to constrain the axial movement of the permanent magnet; and a plurality of elastic pieces 34d that apply a radially outward biasing force to the inner peripheral face of the permanent magnet.

A motor includes a stationary unit and a rotation unit. The rotation unit includes a rotor hub, an annular body, and a clamp. The rotor hub is mounted with a first magnet opposite to the stator. The annular body is supported on an outer circumferential portion of the rotor hub. The clamp is directly or indirectly fixed to the rotor hub farther radially inside than the annular body, and presses the annular body to an axially lower side. The rotor hub includes a flange that expands radially outside from at least a portion excluding an upper end portion. On a surface of the clamp, a pattern to be detected to detect rotation of the rotation unit positioned in a circumferential direction with the central axis as the center is provided. The annular body is sandwiched between the flange and the clamp in an axial direction.
