A sofa bed traversable between a sofa and bed configurations is disclosed herein. It has a folding mechanism having first and second pairs of link members rotatably attached to a backrest and support members on left and right sides of the back rest. Via the first and second link members, the back rest is transitionable between the sofa configuration and the bed configuration. A seat base is movable up and down at an angle via a sliding mechanism.

A frame subassembly of a foldable bed frame includes a seat deck, a back deck, and armrests. The frame subassembly includes a portion of the seat deck connected to a portion of the back deck; and a fixed pivot point connecting the back deck to the armrests such that the fixed pivot point between the back deck and the armrests does not slide when the foldable bed frame transitions between a folded state and an unfolded state. The foldable bed frame may include a hanger connecting the armrest to the back deck such that the fixed pivot point therebetween is offset. The foldable bed frame may further include an assistance device configured to store elastic energy during a first transition, and release the stored elastic energy during a second transition.

A frame subassembly of a foldable bed frame includes a seat deck, a back deck, and armrests. A motorized furniture assembly having seat and back support sections moves between sofa and bed positions relative to a stationary frame by activation of two motorized drive assemblies. The motorized drive assemblies move seat support brackets of a seat section forward and backward relative to the stationary frame. Movement of the seat section moves a back support section between horizontal and raised positions. Two linkage assemblies control movement of the motorized furniture assembly between the sofa and bed positions upon actuation of said at least one actuator for activating the motorized drive assemblies.

A seat convertible to a bed. The seat includes a locking mechanism for fixably maintaining a head panel section of the bed in a generally horizontal orientation when the bed is in the deployed configuration and releasing the head panel section from the deployed configuration by a lifting motion. The locking mechanism is connected to the head panel section and a mid-swinging member. The mid-swinging member pivotally attaches to the head panel section and a stationary mounting arm. The stationary mounting arm is fixably attached to a seat frame.

A seat convertible to a bed. The seat includes a locking mechanism for fixably maintaining a head panel section of the bed in a generally horizontal orientation when the bed is in the deployed configuration and releasing the head panel section from the deployed configuration by a lifting motion. The locking mechanism is connected to the head panel section and a mid-swinging member. The mid-swinging member pivotally attaches to the head panel section and a stationary mounting arm. The stationary mounting arm is fixably attached to a seat frame.

Various implementations include a convertible swinging seat assembly. The assembly includes a seat and at least four suspenders. The seat includes four segments. A first end of a second segment is pivotably coupled to a second end of the first segment at a first joint. A first end of a third segment is pivotably coupled to a second end of the second segment at a second joint. A first end of a fourth segment is pivotably coupled to a second end of the third segment at a third joint. The first, second, and third joints are independently pivotable relative to each other. The suspenders each have a first suspender portion and a second suspender portion. The second suspender portion of each suspender is coupled to a different one of the first, second, third, and fourth segments.

A seating unit such as a chair, daybed, love seat or sofa. The seating unit includes a base adapted to provide a seating surface for a user and a seat back adapted to provide a surface for supporting a back of the user. A flexible joint connects the seat back as a cantilever to the base creating a horizontal pivot adapted for rotating the seat back along its Z-axis between a first stowed position and a second deployed position while substantially preventing movement of the seat back along its X-axis and Y-axis. In one embodiment, the base is a split base comprising a first portion and a second portion foldable for storage and shipping and unfoldable for use.

A motorized furniture assembly having seat and back support sections moves between sofa and bed positions relative to a stationary frame by activation of two motorized drive assemblies. The present application relates to a sofa unfolding device capable of avoiding forward overturning, including a seat, a backrest assembly, a linkage assembly, and a leg rest assembly, wherein the linkage assembly is rotatably connected on the seat, the backrest assembly is rotatably connected to a rear end of the seat via the linkage assembly, the leg rest assembly is rotatably connected to a front end of the seat via the linkage assembly, a support mechanism is connected on the front end of the seat and comprises an abutting member and a support member, the abutting member is rotatably connected with the linkage assembly via a first pivot, and the support member is rotatably connected with the abutting assembly via a second pivot and is rotatably connected with the seat via a third pivot.
