The display unit has an open front chamber 50 for storing food products, lower and upper air ducts 32, 34, a fan 36, and an air refrigerator 44. At least one wall is transparent. The display unit further comprises a conduit wall 88, parallel to the transparent wall for creating an air conduit 90. The air conduit comprises a first conduit inlet 92, a second conduit inlet 94, and a conduit outlet 96. The first conduit inlet is in fluid connection with one of the lower and upper air ducts for diverting a portion of the air moving through the relevant air duct into the air conduit. The second conduit inlet is in fluid connection with ambient air outside of the display unit.
System Comprising a Display Unit for Storing and Displaying Food Products, and Multiple Shelves, and Method for Storing and Displaying Food Products in a Display Unit
A system comprises a display unit and shelves. The display unit has an open front chamber for storing food products, a lower air duct with a lower front inlet, an upper air duct with an upper front outlet, a fan and an air refrigerator. The upper front outlet is directed at the lower front inlet for creating an air curtain in front of the open front. At least one of the shelves is a hollow shelf with an inner space, a shelf air outlet at a front side, a shelf air inlet at a back side, a fan, and a shelf heater. The fan is in fluid connection with the shelf air inlet and the shelf air outlet for moving air from the shelf air inlet through the hollow shelf to the shelf air outlet.
GUIDE VANE FOR REFRIGERATED DISPLAY CASE
A refrigerated display case having a front and including a duct to direct an air stream flow through a bottom, a back, and a top of the refrigerated display case, a guide vane communicating with the top of the duct to redirect the air stream flow along the front of the refrigerated display case, and a receiver coupled to the bottom of the duct to accept the air stream flow redirected by the guide vane. The guide vane includes a top wall, a bottom wall, a pair of side walls, a first end region, a second end region, a plurality of internal wall, and a plurality of flow paths extending between the first end region and the second end region and defined between the pair of side walls, and at least two of the top wall, the bottom wall, a first internal wall of the plurality of internal walls, and a second internal wall of the plurality of internal walls.
AIR CURTAIN GUIDES FOR REFRIGERATORS
An air curtain guide mounting kit for attaching an air curtain guide to an open-display refrigerator, the kit comprising: an arm adapted to be mounted to the refrigerator; and a bracket comprising an engagement section adapted to be connected to an air curtain guide, and a mounting section connected to the engagement section and adapted to form a hinged connection with the arm.
PROCESS FOR OPTIMISING THE POSITION OF REFRIGERATOR AIR GUIDES IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE INCREASED ENERGY EFFICIENCY OF THE REFRIGERATOR
The present disclosure describes a method for configuring an open display refrigerator, the method comprises: measuring an initial temperature difference between the warmest temperature recorded by an array of temperature sensors and the coldest temperature recorded by the array of temperature sensors; coupling an air guide to at least one shelf; adjusting the distance between the air guide and the edge of the shelf for the at least one shelf; measuring a final temperature difference associated with the distance, the final temperature difference being the temperature difference between the warmest temperature recorded by the array of temperature sensors and the coldest temperature recorded by the array of temperatures sensors after coupling an air guide to the at least one shelf; selecting a distance from the plurality of distances that gives rise to at least a threshold temperature difference, or selecting the distance from the plurality of distances wherein the difference between the initial temperature difference and the associated final temperature difference is greatest.
OPEN DISPLAY REFRIGERATORS INCLUDING WEIRS
An open display refrigerator is provided, comprising: a refrigerated interior space, air in the refrigerated interior space being separated from air in a space exterior to the open display refrigerator by an air curtain established by a fan which blows air through an air outlet towards a corresponding air inlet which recovers air from the air curtain for recirculation to the air outlet; and a weir screen positioned proximal to the exterior space relative to the air inlet, wherein the weir screen is moveable between a retracted position in which the weir screen does not limit access to a base of the refrigerator and a deployed position in which the weir screen acts as a barrier to prevent air from the air curtain spilling into the exterior space.
MERCHANDISER WITH EVEN DISTRIBUTION FAN PLENUM
A heat exchanger for a refrigerated merchandiser includes a fan housing having an asymmetrical configuration. The fan housing can include a first section with a first open outlet and a second section with a second open outlet.
