PROVIDING ENHANCED AND/OR SUPPLEMENTARY NETWORK CONNECTIVITY TO AT LEAST ONE CLIENT DEVICE THAT IS CONNECTED TO A TELECOMMUNICATIONS NETWORK USING A CUSTOMER PREMISES EQUIPMENT DEVICE
A system for providing enhanced and/or supplementary network connectivity to at least one client device being connected to a telecommunications network using a customer premises equipment device includes: the customer premises equipment device; a supplementary access gateway device; and the at least one client device. The supplementary access gateway device is configured to provide enhanced and/or supplementary network connectivity to the at least one client device using the second access network and the first interface of the supplementary access gateway device, the enhanced and/or supplementary network connectivity being provided to the at least one client device instead of or in addition to the network connectivity provided using the first access network and the customer premises equipment device.
Audio/Video channel bonding configuration adaptations
A data communication architecture delivers a wide variety of content, including audio and video content, to consumers. The architecture employs channel bonding to deliver more bandwidth than any single communication channel can carry. In some implementations, the communication architecture communicates content according to an initial bonding configuration. The communication architecture may adjust the bonding configuration to adapt to bonding environment changes affecting the communication capabilities or requirements associated with transmitting the content.
Communication device, communication system, method for determining path, and program
A communication device communicates with a counterpart device via a working path or any of a plurality of backup paths. The communication device includes: a plurality of selection units which select either one of two paths, the plurality of selection units including a main selection unit and an auxiliary selection unit being different from the main selection unit; and a path determination unit which determines a path selected by one of the plurality of selection units which has last performed path selection to be a path to be used for communicating with the counterpart device. The main selection unit selects one path from between the working path and one of the plurality of backup paths. The auxiliary selection unit selects one path from between a path selected by one selection unit of the plurality of selection units and one of the plurality of backup paths, the one selection unit being different from the auxiliary selection unit.
TRANSITION INTERVALS FOR CHANNEL BONDING IN WIRELESS NETWORKS
This disclosure describes enhanced directional multi gigabit (EDMG) physical layer convergence procedure (PLCP) protocol data unit (PPDU) frames and frame formats for wireless networks. The frame can include a legacy portion and a non-legacy portion. The legacy portion of the frame can be transmitted using a legacy sample (or chip) rate. The non-legacy portion of the frame can be transmitted using a second, different sample (or chip) rate. A transition interval field may be defined between the legacy and the non-legacy portions of the frame, the transition interval field having a predetermined time duration. In one embodiment, the transition interval field can be defined and/or used in connection with one or more standards (for example, a IEEE 802.11ay standard). The various embodiments disclosed herein can be used to facilitate hardware implementation, increase vendor-agnostic compatibility, and allow for accurate, vendor agnostic time-of-flight (ToF) measurements.
Guard Intervals for Wireless Networks
This disclosure describes methods, apparatus, and systems to increase the transmission data rate in wireless networks, for example, by using one or more Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) and/or channel bonding techniques. In one embodiment, the disclosure describes the use of Golay Sequence Sets (GSS) to define guard intervals (GIs) for single carrier (SC) single channel bonding and multiple input multiple output (MIMO) transmission. In various embodiments, the disclosure describes the design of guard interval sequence for 3 types of guard intervals having lengths that can be classified as short, medium, and long. In another embodiment, the disclosure defines the guard interval for single channel transmission channel bonding and for MIMO transmission.
Physical Uplink Control Channel Cells in a Communication Network Using Carrier Aggregation
A communication is executed between a user equipment and a communication network based on carrier aggregation using a first group of at least two PUCCH groups, the first group including a primary serving cell that carries a first PUCCH, and first serving cells which use the first PUCCH, and a second group of the at least two PUCCH groups, the second group including a secondary serving cell that carries a second PUCCH, and second serving cells which use the second PUCCH. In case a predetermined condition occurs, the communication is continued by exchanging the first group by the second group wherein the secondary serving cell that carries the second PUCCH becomes the primary serving cell and vice versa.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PROVISIONING OF INTERNET ACCESS SERVICES IN A GUEST FACILITY
A system and method for provisioning Internet access services to guests of a facility (e.g., one or more hotel chains). Equipment and devices for access service are installed throughout the facility. Each device that supports the Internet access services has a unique identifier. Zones representing various public and private areas within each facility are defined and one or more devices are associated with each zone. Service offerings for wired and wireless connections are defined and associated with one or more zones. Service offerings are also paired with pricing plans that provide various payment options and amounts. A web-based administration application allows an administrator to define and manage service offerings associated with the zones. The application also allows the administrator to define and manage the pricing plans. The ability to customize offerings in each facility allows development of consistent offerings, regardless of the size or layout of the facility.
Methods and apparatus for operating an access network
Methods and apparatus are disclosed for operating an access network including data connections (19) between end-user devices (12, 14, 16, 18) and an aggregation transceiver (20) at which connections (19) are aggregated for onward connection through the network. The method comprises, for each connection, obtaining connection data for each of a plurality of monitoring periods, each comprising shorter periods, the connection data comprising performance and user activity indications for each shorter period; monitoring the performance of the connection in order to estimate a measure of its performance during a particular monitoring period that discounts performance indications obtained in respect of shorter periods within that monitoring period when the user was inactive unless activity indications in respect of corresponding shorter periods within other monitoring periods indicate that such user inactivity is anomalous; and applying a profile to the connection that is dependent on the measure of performance of the data connection.
Channel bonding for layered content
Different data communication architectures deliver a wide variety of content, including audio and video content, to consumers. The architectures employ channel bonding to deliver more bandwidth than any single communication channel can carry. In some implementations, the communication architectures distribute video programming across the communication channels in the bonded channel group based on the dependency of the video data.
