METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR INCREASING WIRELESS COMMUNICATION THROUGHPUT OF A BONDED VPN TUNNEL
The present disclosure provides for devices, systems, and methods which optimize throughput of bonded connections over multiple variable bandwidth logical paths by adjusting a tunnel bandwidth weighting schema during a data transfer session in response to a change in bandwidth capabilities of one or more tunnels. By making such adjustments, embodiments of the present invention are able to optimize the bandwidth potential of multiple connections being used in a session, while minimizing the adverse consequences of reduced bandwidth issues which may occur during the data transfer session.
Service Processing Method and Apparatus and Optical Line Terminal
A service processing method and apparatus and an optical line terminal are provided in the present document. The method includes: establishing a corresponding relationship between a device identifier used for identifying an optical network unit ONU and a service provider SP; determining an SP providing a service according to the device identifier reported by the ONU and the corresponding relationship; and processing the service provided by the SP according to the determined SP. The present document solves the problem of resource wastes and complicated management and maintenance existing as each service provider respectively performs service operation and corresponding service management and maintenance according to respective dedicated network in the related art, thereby achieving that services of different service providers are maintained and managed in the same passive optical network, which has an effect that the network construction costs can be effectively saved, and the maintenance is convenient and efficient.
Adjusting the connection idle timeout in connection pools
An approach is provided that responds to a connection request to connect to an external network entity using a connection from a managed connection pool. The connection pool is managed by selecting connections from the connection pool that includes one or more currently unused connections with the external network entity. One of the selected connections is validated by comparing an idle time associated with each of the selected connections to a maximum idle time value corresponding to the external network entity. The maximum idle time value being previously identified at the information handling system. The validated connection is then used to connect to the external network entity to satisfy the connection request.
VIDEO SIGNAL TRANSMISSION SYSTEM
The present invention provides a transmitter including a first source network interface connected to a first transmission path of a plurality of transmission paths, an nth source network interface connected to an nth transmission path of the plurality of transmission paths, a video signal segmenting unit configured to segment a video signal into a plurality of pieces of data, a sequence number allocating unit configured to allocate a sequence number to each of the plurality of pieces of data, an IP packet generating unit configured to generate a plurality of IP packets by adding IP headers to the plurality of pieces of data, and a transmitting unit configured to allocate each of the plurality of IP packets to one of the first source network interface to the nth source network interface, respectively, and to transmit the IP packets independently.
Method and apparatus for network and service controlled hybrid access
A method for network controlled optimization of hybrid access traffic management for a residential user connected via a hybrid access home gateway, which provides at least two different network links with different technology to a core network, wherein the core network has a connection to the internet, wherein in the core network a Hybrid Access Server is located, includes: extracting by the Hybrid Access Server one or more of the following information: Network link availability, Network link utilization, Quality of Service information with respect to the services requested from the home gateway; and selecting networks links, network traffic routing, and/or service routing by the Hybrid Access Server in communication with the hybrid access home gateway and/or other components in the network.
Throughput optimization for bonded variable bandwidth connections
The present disclosure provides for devices, systems, and methods which optimize throughput of bonded connections over multiple variable bandwidth logical paths by adjusting a tunnel bandwidth weighting schema during a data transfer session in response to a change in bandwidth capabilities of one or more tunnels. By making such adjustments, embodiments of the present invention are able to optimize the bandwidth potential of multiple connections being used in a session, while minimizing the adverse consequences of reduced bandwidth issues which may occur during the data transfer session.
Upstream external PHY interface for data and control plane traffic
An access point that supports downstream and upstream communication from and to a Modular Cable Modem Termination System (M-CMTS) core to and from customer premises equipment (CPE), respectively, implements an Upstream External PHY Interface (UEPI) protocol with the M-CMTS core for control of the upstream communication. The access point receives from the M-CMTS core first UEPI control messages comprising information to configure one or more pathways with the access point for data plane upstream communication and control plane communication. The access point transmits to the M-CMTS core second UEPI control messages including a spectrum management message to manage upstream spectrum between the access point and the M-CMTS core, and a range request message to request ranging information so that the CPE can transmit upstream packets within an upstream timeslot, wherein at least one second UEPI control message is forwarded from the (CPE).
METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR OPERATING AN ACCESS NETWORK
Methods and apparatus are disclosed for operating an access network including data connections (19) between end-user devices (12, 14, 16, 18) and an aggregation transceiver (20) at which connections (19) are aggregated for onward connection through the network. The method comprises, for each connection, obtaining connection data for each of a plurality of monitoring periods, each comprising shorter periods, the connection data comprising performance and user activity indications for each shorter period; monitoring the performance of the connection in order to estimate a measure of its performance during a particular monitoring period that discounts performance indications obtained in respect of shorter periods within that monitoring period when the user was inactive unless activity indications in respect of corresponding shorter periods within other monitoring periods indicate that such user inactivity is anomalous; and applying a profile to the connection that is dependent on the measure of performance of the data connection.
