Low latency small message communication channel using remote write
A method implemented by an electronic device for sending data on low latency communication includes remote writing a sequence number of a message to be sent next to a receiver, determining whether there is an open position in a receive buffer of the receiver using a local tracking mechanism, writing data of the message to an area of an address space of a sending application that is mapped onto the receive buffer as a result of determining there is the open position in the receive buffer, incrementing a local sequence counter, and updating position information in the local tracking mechanism.
BUS CONVERTER
A device for coupling a fieldbus to a local bus for connection to at least one data bus subscriber, the device comprising a first unit that is connectable to the fieldbus and is adapted for sending and receiving data via the fieldbus; a second unit that is connectable to the local bus and is adapted for sending and receiving data via the local bus in at least one data packet; a data management unit that is connected to the first unit and the second unit, wherein the data management unit is adapted for transferring first symbols from data received via said first unit to said second unit in a sequence-dependent manner; and wherein the second unit is adapted to send at least one data packet including the first symbols on the local bus. In addition, a corresponding method for transferring data is described.
FUNCTION CONNECTION UNIT COMPRISING A PARAMETER MEMORY
The present disclosure relates to a function connection unit for connecting functional modules. The functional connection unit includes a plurality of functional module terminals configured to connect to the functional modules and to communicate according to a first communication protocol, and a parameter memory that includes parameter data for device specific parameterization of at least one functional module. The parameter memory is configured to connect to a functional module terminal of the plurality of functional module terminals. The function connection unit is configured to read the parameter data from the parameter memory. The function connection unit is also configured to parameterize at least one functional module in a device-specific fashion based at least in part on the read parameter data.
MULTI-PROTOCOL BUS CIRCUIT
A multi-protocol bus circuit is provided. The multi-protocol bus circuit includes multiple master circuits each configured to communicate a respective master bus command(s) via a respective one of multiple master buses based on a respective one of multiple master bus protocols, and a slave circuit(s) configured to communicate a slave bus command(s) via a slave bus based on a slave bus protocol that is different from any of the master bus protocols. To enable bidirectional bus communications between the master circuits and the slave circuit(s), the multi-protocol bus circuit further includes a multi-protocol bridge circuit configured to perform a bidirectional conversion between the slave bus protocol and each of the master bus protocols. As a result, it is possible to support bidirectional bus communications based on heterogeneous bus protocols with minimal impact on cost and/or footprint.
Control device, and control method for link activating and deactivating
Provided is a control device capable of reducing power consumption in a control system. The control device includes a master control unit and at least one slave control unit that is connected to the master control unit via a communication line. The master control unit includes a circuit for, upon completion of data transmission from the slave control unit via an uplink, transmitting an instruction for deactivating the uplink to the slave control unit via a downlink, as well as a circuit for, in order to obtain data from the slave control unit, transmitting an instruction for activating the uplink to the slave control unit via the downlink. The slave control unit includes a circuit for keeping the downlink active, and for activating/deactivating the uplink in accordance with an instruction from the master control unit transmitted via the downlink.
Subscriber station for a serial bus system and method for communicating in a serial bus system
A subscriber station for a serial bus system and a method for communicating in a serial bus system. The subscriber station includes a communication control device for controlling a communication of the subscriber station with at least one other subscriber station of the bus system, a transmitting/receiving device for receiving a transmission signal generated by a communication control device of a subscriber station of the bus system in a frame from a bus of the bus system and for generating a reception signal from the received frame, and a connection quality block for detecting and evaluating a quality of a communication connection to a subscriber station of the bus system from the reception signal generated by the transmitting/receiving device by using at least two time quanta, into which the bit time of a bit of the generated reception signal is subdivided.
Detecting anomalies on a controller area network bus
A process detects anomalies on a controller area network (CAN) bus. An arbitration field in a message on the CAN bus is analyzed, and a data field in the message on the CAN bus is inspected. The process further monitors a frequency of message identifiers that are transmitted across the CAN bus, and determines that an overall bus load crosses a threshold. The process then transmits an alert when the analyzing the arbitration field, the inspecting the data field, the monitoring the frequency, and the determining the overall bus load indicate that an anomaly has occurred on the CAN bus.
