Methods and apparatus for using synchronization signals as reference for demodulating multi-port broadcast channel

Various features related to using a multi-port synchronization signal as reference for demodulating a multi-port broadcast channel are described. In an aspect, a synchronization signal, e.g., SSS, may be repurposed to serve as a demodulation reference for a downlink channel, e.g., PBCH, thereby obviating the need for a base station to send an additional reference signal for PBCH demodulation. A base station may select two or more logical antenna ports to transmit a synchronization signal, transmit the synchronization signal from the selected two or more logical antenna ports, and transmit information on the PBCH, from at least the selected two or more logical antenna ports. A UE may receive the synchronization signal from the two or more logical antenna ports at the base station, receive information on the PBCH from the at least the two or more logical antenna ports, and demodulate the information based on the received synchronization signal.

PHYSIOLOGICAL INFORMATION COLLECTING SYSTEM AND TRANSCEIVER DEVICE THEREOF

A physiological information collecting system and a transceiver device thereof are configured to collect physiological information from animal bodies. The transceiver device includes a front-end circuit, a follower circuit, a quadrature delay line and an output circuit. The front-end circuit separates a discontinuous signal into an in-phase signal and a quadrature signal. The follower circuit outputs a control voltage and rotates the in-phase signal by a predetermined phase angle to output a follower signal. The quadrature delay line rotates the quadrature signal by a corresponding phase angle according to the control voltage. The output circuit synthesizes the follower signal and the quadrature signal and outputs a data signal by demodulating the discontinuous signal. Consequently, the transceiver device reduces the bandwidth range of the discontinuous signal when receiving the discontinuous signal, reduces the power consumed by the transceiver device, and demodulates the discontinuous signal with various transmission rates of different data.

Adaptive selection of signal-detection mode

A wireless device detects a synchronization signal by obtaining (210), from a received signal, a sequence of samples, and calculating (220) a differentially decoded sequence from the obtained sequence of samples. The wireless device correlates (230) the calculated differentially decoded sequence with a first reference sequence corresponding to the synchronization signal, at each of a plurality of time offsets, and identifies which of the plurality of time offsets results in a largest correlation result. In response to determining (240) that the largest correlation result does not meet a predetermined reliability criterion, the wireless device correlates (250) the obtained sequence of samples with a second reference sequence, at each of a plurality of time and frequency offsets, and identifies which combination of time offset and frequency offset results in a largest correlation result. The first reference sequence comprises a differentially decoded version of the second reference sequence.

In a data carrier apparatus, a reception unit receives, from a data carrier driving apparatus, a pulse signal that alternatingly repeats a first-level period and a second-level period, which are set based on individual data values. A measurement unit measures respective time widths of the first-level period and the second-level period in the received pulse signal. A demodulation unit demodulates data conveyed by the received pulse signal, by determining the data value corresponding to the first-level period based on a measured value of the first-level period output from the measurement unit and a first reference value, and determining the data value corresponding to the second-level period based on a measured value of the second-level period output from the measurement unit and a second reference value.

Phase measuring device and apparatuses using the phase measuring device

The inventive phase measuring device includes a first A/D converter 2 that digitizes a first periodical input signal X at each predetermined sampling timing and outputs the resultant signal as a digital signal Xd, a first zero-crossing identification means operable to detect a sign of Xd, a counting processing unit 4 that counts a difference in the number of times of zero-crossing detection by the first zero-crossing identification means and calculates the difference at each sampling timing, and a fraction processing unit 5 that computes a fraction of the number of times of zero-crossing detection on the basis of Xd at sampling timings immediately before and immediately after determination of zero-crossing by the first zero-crossing identification means. An averaging processing unit 6 performs averaging by adding up and totalizing the outputs from the counting processing unit 4 and the fraction processing unit 5, thereby computing a phase. The inventive device thus implements a digital phase measuring device and a digital phase difference measuring device that allow input of periodical signals in a wide frequency range and that are capable of accurate and real-time measurement.

Chaotically modulated communications with switched-capacitance resistance tuning

Various embodiments are described that relate to a switched-capacitor in a chaotically modulated communication device. For one chaotically modulated communication device to communicate with another chaotically modulated communication device, the devices should be finely tuned with one another. To achieve this fine tuning, the devices can employ a switched-capacitor set that can function as a variable resistor set. Employing the switched-capacitor set can cause achievement of precise resistances that allow the devices to successfully communicate with one another.
