APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR DYNAMIC SCALING AND ORCHESTRATION
Apparatus and methods to dynamically scale and orchestrate services over a network are provided. The apparatus and methods may include two or more computers forming a network cluster. Each computer may have an agent and user service. One or more computers may include a gateway service, authorization service, a pool of network services, and a director service. A user may request access to a network service, and the gateway and director services may grant access to the network service or create a new instance of the network service on any computer in the cluster and then grant access to the network service to the user.
ENTITY AND METHOD FOR NETWORK SLICE ENABLEMENT FOR A VERTICAL APPLICATION
The present disclosure relates to network slicing, in particular, in 5G networks systems. The disclosure is concerned with network slice enablement for (vertical) applications. Thus, an entity for inter-operation between a network system and at least one application is provided. The entity provides a request to the network system, for selection and/or adjustment of a network slice instance (NSI) providing one or more services to the at least one application. The request comprises a set of requirements for the at least one application and/or the one or more services. The set of requirements comprises a required configuration or adaption of at least one NSI related parameter. The entity further receives a response to the request from the network system. The response indicates a decision of the network system regarding the selection and/or adjustment of the NSI.
POLICY-DRIVEN CLIENT AND DESTINATION PRIORITY
A method and system for policy-driven traffic management in cloud-based multi-tenant systems is disclosed. Routes delivers services to end user devices. The routes are specified for policies. The policies specify residencies for the routes, cloud services, and data storage. An application running on an end user device selects a policy and a cloud service. A route corresponding to the policy, a residency specified by the policy, and the cloud service is returned to the application. An operation of the end user device in compliance with the policies is monitored to generate telemetry. An access resource server receives a non-compliance with the policy, and identify new routes, policies and configuration for remediation.
End-to-end service level metric approximation
Described are examples for providing service level monitoring for a network hosting applications as a cloud service. A service level monitoring device may receive end-to-end measurements of service usage collected at user devices for a plurality of applications hosted as a cloud services. The service level monitoring device may determine degraded applications of the plurality of applications based on anomalies in the measurements. The service level monitoring device may determine a service level metric based on an aggregation of the degraded applications. In some examples, the service level monitoring device may detect a network outage affecting the service.
NETWORK SERVICE ACTIVATION SYSTEM
Aspects of the present disclosure involve systems and methods for a service activation system in a telecommunications network that utilizes one or more generic container files for building the configuration file to instantiate the service on the network. A request for service from a network may be received from an order entry system that includes specific information about the requested service. A collection of generic configuration files may be selected based on the information included in the service order and arranged to build a configuration file to be executed on the network. The service activation system may also include a component or group of components to verify a received service order and alter the service order with default information or data where applicable. The configuration file may also be executed on the network through one or more drivers communicating with the affected devices to configure the one or more network devices.
RELIABILITY REFERENCE MODEL FOR TOPOLOGY CONFIGURATION
A topology configuration tool for optimizing resources to meet requirements. The tool may use a derivation of the composite service outage and restoral rates as a function of the number of servers, the number of sites, and the minimum required server capacity level, using an adaptation of the hyper-geometric “balls in urns” distribution with unequally likely combinations.
NETWORK PERFORMANCE MONITORING AND FAULT MANAGEMENT BASED ON WIDE AREA NETWORK LINK HEALTH ASSESSMENTS
Techniques are described for monitoring network performance and managing network faults in a computer network. A cloud-based network management system stores path data received from a plurality of network devices operating as network gateways for an enterprise network, the path data collected by each network device of the plurality of network devices for one or more logical paths of a physical interface from the network device over a wide area network (WAN). The network management system determines, based on the path data, one or more WAN link health assessments, wherein the one or more WAN link health assessments include a success or failure state associated with one or more of service provider reachability, physical interface operation, or logical path performance; and in response to determining the at least one failure state, outputs a notification including identification of a root cause of the at least one failure state.
Systems and methods to deploy cloud-native microservices for communication services on scale
A method for bundling network functions as a single microservice in a cloud environment. A service deployment manager may acquire subscriber location information associated with a subscriber or a subscriber profile associated with the subscriber. Moreover, the service deployment manager may utilize the subscriber location information or the subscriber profile to select a cloud location. For example, the cloud location may be based on load, geographical proximity, service profile, etc.
Cloud gateway outage risk detector
A cloud gateway outage risk detector can receive, by an event listener module, user session data associated with a plurality of user sessions over a cloud gateway. The event listener module can store the data in a database. A run-time collection module can obtain at least a portion of the data. The run-time collection module can provide the portion of the data to a run-time risk criteria evaluation module that can determine, based upon the portion of the data, a run-time outage risk criteria for the cloud gateway. A baseline risk criteria evaluation module can obtain historical data from the database. The baseline risk criteria evaluation module can determine, based upon the data, a baseline outage risk criteria for the cloud gateway. The run-time risk criteria evaluation module can determine whether the run-time outage risk criteria meets or exceeds an outage risk threshold.
