Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a method and device for facilitating a connectivity check between a terminal device and a media gateway. In example embodiments, the session controller receives, via a web gateway associated with said terminal device, a request for establishing a real-time communication call and an indication for indicating a capability of said terminal device for early reception of a connectivity parameter of said media gateway to be used in said connectivity check. The session controller obtains said connectivity parameter from said media gateway. Then, in response to said connectivity parameter being obtained, the session controller sends said connectivity parameter via said web gateway towards said terminal device within a time limit. In this way, said terminal device may initiate said connectivity check to said media gateway earlier, and thus a latency of call establishment may be reduced significantly.

A system to provide second generation (2G) voice services over internet protocol, the system including: a voice gateway (VGW) including a 2G stack to communicate control plane information and user plane information with a 2G user terminal (UT) via a circuit-switched network without modifications to the 2G-UT, an Iu-CS IP stack, and a relay to map the control plane information between the 2G stack and the Iu-CS IP stack, and vice-versa; a mobile switching center (MSC), connected to the VGW via the Iu-CS IP stack, to manage and establish the voice services between the 2G-UT and a public switched telephone network (PSTN) based on the mapped control plane information; and a media gateway (MGW) connected to the VGW via the Iu-CS IP stack, where the MGW communicates the user plane information between the 2G-UT and the PSTN after the MSC 2-G UT vocoder, e.g. AMBE, has established voice services.

A streaming orchestrator may monitor the quality of video being delivered to a home or other building. If the streaming orchestrator determines that additional performance is needed, it may create an additional User Plane Gateway in the virtual “white box” environment residing in the customer premises. The streaming orchestrator may instruct gNodeBs to continue to route traffic back to the central core functions or to route traffic to local user plane gateways which transmit video streams to the Internet via localized high-speed connections.

The multimedia streaming base station is capable of capturing, storing, encoding, and transmitting multimedia via a local multimedia capture device. The multimedia base station can be a heterogeneous multi-RAT node, in which case the wireless communication network could be a heterogeneous mesh network. The multimedia base station could by a dynamic mesh node in alternate embodiments. Additional embodiments of the present invention include methods for facilitating streaming of locally captured multimedia content.

A mobile application gateway for connecting devices on a cellular network with individual networks, such as enterprise voice and data networks and/or residential networks. The effects of the present invention are far reaching in terms of transferring effective call control from the cellular network into the control of the individual network such as the enterprise, and enabling new business models for the purchase of cellular service from a public cellular carrier by an enterprise. The invention may consist of a primarily of core network and services components based on the IMS network architecture, and is backward compatible to support legacy systems in place in current telecom and data networks.

Conference calls may be established initially or created as additional people are invited to an existing call. Functions such as screensharing, chat messaging, and file sharing may be provided. System, method, and apparatus for Internet Protocol (IP) based radio communications. One or more browser-based dispatch consoles connect to one or more Radio over IP (RoIP) gateway device over an untrusted network (e.g., the public Internet) using a Web Real-Time Communication (WebRTC) connection secured with SSL/TLS. Each RoIP gateway device provides an analog interface to the radio domain so as to communicate with one or more radio. This architecture avoids any ongoing connection to a centralized cloud-based server and maintains secure radio communications over the untrusted network. Each browser-based dispatch console accesses each RoIP gateway device from a standard web browser thus enabling portability across any platform that supports a browser.

There are disclosed measures of network entity selection, for example including furnishing an identity of a network entity being pre-selected by a first network apparatus, and providing verification information for said pre-selected network entity identity, enabling to verify whether the pre-selected network entity identity is applicable for network entity selection at a second network apparatus.

A method for facilitating regulatory compliance with respect to telephony communications is provided. The method includes: assigning, to a mobile telephone, an access number; routing a communication that relates to the assigned access number to a gateway; processing the routed communication to ensure compliance with all jurisdictional regulations, including real-time call recording and short message service (SMS) capturing for compliance archival and search, applying data loss prevention (DLP) rules, and any other suitable processing; and forwarding the processed communication to the mobile telephone. A subscriber identification module (SIM) that is associated with the access number is physically installed at the gateway. The communication may be a voice communication and/or an SMS text communication.
