Methods and apparatus for efficient load balancing among microservices and/or processing entities
The present invention is directed to communications methods and apparatus for efficiently distributing traffic to processing entities. An exemplary method includes the steps of: receiving, at a first Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) load balancer (SLB), a first SIP INVITE message; selecting, at the first SLB, which Session Border Controller (SBC) in a first cluster of SBCs to send the first SIP invite message based on a message allocation weight determined based on message loss information corresponding to different SBCs in the first cluster of SBCs, the selecting including allocating a portion of incoming received SIP INVITE messages to an individual SBC based on a message loss rate corresponding to the individual SBC and the message allocation rate, said selecting including selecting a first SBC from the first cluster of SBCs to send said first SIP INVITE message, and sending the first SIP INVITE message to the first SBC.
Region-based connecting of calls using client-specific control and provisioned numbers
Systems and methods are disclosed for client-based control of revising caller identifications (IDs) for communications between a private network and a public network. An apparatus including a communications provider server and processing circuit that communicates client-specific sets of data over an interface protocol. The telecommunications-providing server revises a caller ID for a call based on the client-specific sets of data, an identifier that corresponds to a requesting endpoint, and a geographic region determined from the call request. Further, the telecommunications-providing server connects the VoIP call by accessing and passing a provisioned number. The provisioned number includes the revised caller ID which is a local number identified by the determined geographic region that the endpoint is located.
Multiple addressing access device
A method and a device for managing a remote communication service (streaming) between a terminal in a communications network and an object of a local area network. The terminal and the object are capable of communicating via a gateway of the local area network. The method includes the following steps on a service provision device providing the service: establishing a list of associations between an address for accessing the object and at least one feature of the service; obtaining at least one criterion linked to the terminal; selecting at least one association in the list of associations according to said criterion; and sending to the terminal at least one address associated with said at least one selected association.
Method for providing voice service to roaming wireless users
Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a method in which a processing system authenticates a communication device roaming from a home network that does not support Voice over Long Term Evolution (VoLTE) roaming, and in which the processing system communicates with a packet gateway (PGW) of an evolved packet core (EPC) separate from the processing system, to facilitate communication between the communication device and a subsystem of the EPC; the subsystem emulates the home network to provide a VoLTE roaming service to the communication device. The communication device also engages in a session initiation protocol (SIP) with the subsystem to initiate a communication session with the subsystem; in accordance with the communication session, the subsystem provides the VoLTE roaming service to the communication device. Other embodiments are disclosed.
SESSION INITIATION PROTOCOL (SIP) AUTHENTICATION AND REGISTRATION IN SOFTWARE DEFINED PERIMETER (SDP) NETWORKS
Embodiments of the disclosure are directed to methods and systems for improving security of Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) calls in a Software Defined Network (SDN). In one embodiment a Software Defined Perimeter (SDP) gateway intercepts a SIP registration message from an initiating host to an accepting host for a SIP communication session. The SDP gateway further perform Single Packet Authentication (SPA) to determine if the initiating host is approved. In response to the initiating host being approved, the SDP gateway, adds the initiating host to a whitelist of the SDN. The SDP gateway also instructs the accepting host to accept a communication request from the initiating host for the SIP communication session.
Peripheral bus video communication using internet protocol
Described are techniques for video bridging for conversion of IP network video streams to the USB Video Class (UVC). The conversion of IP video to UVC video can include the use of software-only conversions and hardware assisted conversions, and can be done within purpose-built “conversion” devices or as software only solutions operating within applications or drivers within the operating systems of the “end nodes”. The end-nodes simultaneously see and use multiple USB UVC video sources. The conversion process can also convert the USB UVC video control protocol to IP Video Stream control protocols.
System and method for enabling call originations using SMS and hotline capabilities
A method for handling call originations is provided. The method includes sending origination information from a mobile device to an application server in an enterprise network using Short Message Service (SMS) and determining whether a hotline feature is present in a subscriber profile associated with the mobile device. Data is then routed from the mobile device to a predetermined destination based on the hotline feature.
Apparatuses and methods for voice call service provision
A mobile communication device including a wireless transceiver and a controller is provided. The wireless transceiver performs wireless transmission and reception to and from a 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) network using a first Radio Access Technology (RAT). The controller establishes one or more radio bearers with the first 3GPP network via the wireless transceivers, and establishes a secure tunnel with a non-3GPP interworking gateway of a second 3GPP network via the radio bearers. The second 3GPP network utilizes a second RAT. Also, the controller registers, via the secure tunnel, an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) service with an IMS server communicatively connected to the second 3GPP network, so as to make a voice call over the first 3GPP network.
Gateway action framework
Disclosed are various examples of an action framework for configuring a gateway to perform actions on the gateway itself or in conjunction with connected IoT devices. In some examples, a command is transmitted from a management service to a gateway device to permit a gateway client application to execute on the gateway device. A command to register an action in association with the gateway client application is also transmitted. The management service then commands the gateway device to perform the action, and receives an action results message with information about the action.
Calling line/name identification of enterprise subscribers in mobile calls
A system, server, and method of DTMF detection in a VoIP network.
