Private allocated networks over shared communications infrastructure

Methods and systems for implementing private allocated networks in a virtual infrastructure are presented. One method operation creates virtual switches in one or more hosts in the virtual infrastructure. Each port in the virtual switches is associated with a private allocated network (PAN) from a group of possible PANs. In one embodiment, one or more PANs share the same physical media for data transmission. The intranet traffic within each PAN is not visible to nodes that are not connected to the each PAN. In another operation, the method defines addressing mode tables for the intranet traffic within each PAN. The entries in the addressing mode tables define addressing functions for routing the intranet traffic between the virtual switches, and different types of addressing functions are supported by the virtual switches.

Information processing apparatus

An information processing apparatus including a control unit. In a case where a first physical layer network identifier for identifying a first network to which an apparatus in question belongs is determined to match a second physical layer network identifier for identifying a second network to which the apparatus in question does not belong, the control unit changes a first physical layer network identifier. Then, the control unit transmits the change information relating to the change to another information processing apparatus. Further, in a case where change information for changing a first physical layer network identifier for identifying a first network to which the apparatus in question belongs is received from another information processing apparatus which belongs to the first network, the control unit changes a condition for terminating reception processing of a packet on the basis of the change information in a middle of the reception processing.

Method and apparatus for packet wash in networks

A method for communicating a data packet, the method includes receiving a data packet that supports a packet wash operation. The method determines whether the data packet can be forwarded along a network path towards a destination node without any modification. If the data packet cannot be forwarded along the network path towards the destination node without modification, the method determines whether conditions are met for performing the packet wash operation on the data packet. If the conditions are met, the packet wash operation is performed to generate a washed data packet. The packet wash operation generates the washed data packet by modifying a size of a payload of the data packet based on a packet wash specification that associates attributes to a plurality of data payload portions of the payload of the data packet. The washed data packet is forwarded along the network path towards the destination node.

Harmonized data for engineering simulation

Computer-implemented systems and methods for data harmonization in engineering simulation. The method may comprise receiving application preferences defining attributes associated with input data to be delivered to one or more applications from one or more data sources. A first set of attributes may be associated with data to be delivered to a first application. Application preferences may be provided to a handler in communication with the data sources. Raw data received by the handler may arrive in a variety of formats and packet sizes from the one or more data sources. Raw data may be packaged by the handler into one or more data packets having a size or format that satisfies the application preferences. One or more attributes associated with input data to be delivered to the first application may be defined. Packaged data may be transmitted over one or more data transmission channels satisfying the application preferences.
