An image processing apparatus includes: a memory configured to store a machine-learned model produced by performing machine learning using teaching data associating image data generated by reading a document by an image reading device with device abnormality information on abnormality of the image reading device; and when the image reading device reads a document, a processor configured to obtain the device abnormality information based on generated image data and the machine-learned model.

An image reading apparatus, including a feed tray, a conveyance guide, a conveyor, a reading sensor, a first housing, a first driving source, a first driving train, a second driving source, and a second driving train, is provided. The first housing accommodates at least the conveyance guide and the conveyor and has a first outer face and a second outer face facing opposite to each other in a widthwise direction. The first driving source and the first driving train are accommodated in the first housing on a side toward the first outer face. The first driving train transmits a driving force from the first driving source to the conveyor. The second driving source and the second driving train are accommodated in the first housing on a side toward the second outer face. The second driving train transmits a driving force from the second driving source to the movable plate.

An image forming apparatus includes a scanner device and an image forming apparatus body to which the scanner device is attached. The scanner device has a document inlet and a document outlet respectively formed in mutually opposed surfaces thereof, and is configured to read an image of a document fed thereinto through the document inlet and discharge the document through the document outlet. The scanner device is detachably attached to a top surface of the image forming apparatus body. The top surface of the image forming apparatus body functions as a guide surface guiding the document when the scanner device is used.

An image forming apparatus includes a printer having a sheet discharge tray, a scanning device disposed above the printer, a resin-made support member supporting the scanning device on the printer and defining a sheet discharge space above the sheet discharge tray between the printer and the scanning device, a metal-made first reinforcement plate fixed to the printer and the support member, and a metal-made second reinforcement plate fixed to the scanning device and the support member. The support member has a notched part formed to communicate the sheet discharge space with an outside in a direction intersecting a sheet discharge direction on the sheet discharge tray. The first reinforcement plate extends at least in a vertical direction along the notched part. The second reinforcement plate, which is not coupled with the first reinforcement plate, extends at least in the vertical direction along the notched part.

An image acquiring device comprises: an automatic document feeder comprising: an input tray supporting an information medium; and a control panel comprising an operation button for selecting one image acquiring side of the information medium; an image acquiring assembly acquiring the image of the image acquiring side; a processor electrically connected to the automatic document feeder, the image acquiring assembly and the operation button; a storage, which is electrically connected to the processor and comprises an image module storing program codes for enabling acquiring the image of the image acquiring side; and an output unit receiving and outputting the image of the image acquiring side. The processor controls the image acquiring assembly to acquire the image of the image acquiring side according to the program codes and different signals of the operation button and transmits the image to the output unit. A scanner including a medium discharging apparatus includes a discharge tray including a first tray configured to receive a front end of a medium discharged by a discharge roller pair and allow placement of the medium therein, and a second tray that is located downstream of the first tray in a medium discharge direction and configured to allow placement of the medium therein, the discharge tray being configured to switch between a first posture in which the first tray and the second tray form a first angle 1, and a second posture in which the first tray and the second tray form a second angle 2 smaller than the first angle 1, without changing the posture of the first tray with respect to the discharge roller pair.

A recording apparatus including: a lower unit having a recording section; and an upper unit having a document tray and a reading means that reads an image in a document, the upper unit being disposed above the lower unit, wherein the upper unit is configured such that an apparatus depth direction is a main scan direction for reading an image in the document and an apparatus width direction is a sub-scan direction for reading an image in the document, the lower unit includes support sections that stand upward on both ends in the apparatus width direction to support both ends of the upper unit in a long side direction, and the document tray included in the upper unit is made of a rigid member and part of the document tray is located above the support sections.

A scanner for removing paperclips from a sheaf of papers, with a paper lifting tray operable to move the sheaf of papers in a vertical direction, a pushdown bar configured to move in a vertical direction and make contact with the sheaf of papers on the paper lifting tray and apply a force in an opposite direction from the direction in which the paper lifting tray moves, the force being sufficient to hold the sheaf of papers in place, and with a removal bar configured to move in a direction that is coplanar with the paper lifting tray and orthogonal to the vertical direction, wherein the removal bar is configured to come into contact with the sheaf of papers and push a paperclip off of the sheaf of papers.

A medium conveying apparatus includes an imaging device to image a medium and configured to move in a moving direction, a roller configured to move in the moving direction, on an upstream side of the imaging device, a conveyance guide provided with the imaging device to move the imaging device, wherein the conveyance guide includes a slope for coming into contact with the medium, an engaging member provided with the imaging device to move the imaging device, and a moving member to move the imaging device by engaging with the engaging member in conjunction with a movement of the roller. The engaging member and the moving member are configured to be separated at a distance from one another when the medium is not conveyed. The moving member moves the imaging device by engaging with the engaging member only when the medium has a thickness greater than the distance.

An image forming apparatus comprises a tray, a conveyor, a detector and a movement mechanism. The tray accommodates at least one document. The conveyor conveys the document placed on the tray. The detector detects that the document is placed on the tray. The movement mechanism moves the tray from a first position to a second position closer to the conveyor than the first position based on the detection that the document is placed on the tray, and after moving the tray from the first position to the second position, moves the tray to the first position based on a setting of a mixed stacking mode in which mixing of the documents with different sizes on the tray is permitted.
