Reflective sheet coupling
One example includes a device that is comprised of a cover housing, a reflective sheet, a coupler, and a fastener. The reflective sheet may hold media against a planar transparent scanning area of the device. The coupler may removably attach the reflective sheet to the cover housing, the coupler having a resilient member to exert an axial restoring force between the reflective sheet and the cover housing. The fastener may fix the coupler to the reflective sheet.
Image-reading apparatus and image-forming system
An image-reading apparatus includes: a light-receiving unit that receives reflected light from a recording material on which an image is formed; and multiple light-reflecting members that reflect the reflected light from the recording material toward the light-receiving unit. At least one light-reflecting member of the multiple light-reflecting members reflect the reflected light multiple times.
IMAGE READING APPARATUS
An image reading apparatus including: a reading unit configured to read an image of an original in a main scanning direction; a housing configured to accommodate the reading unit; a guide member configured to guide a movement of the reading unit in a sub-scanning direction orthogonal to the main scanning direction; and a restricting member configured to restrict the movement of the reading unit in the sub-scanning direction and a movement of the reading unit in a vertical direction orthogonal to the main scanning direction and the sub-scanning direction.
Image scanning unit and image forming apparatus having the same
An image scanning unit an image forming apparatus having the same to scan an image recorded on a document. The image scanning unit includes: a transparent window on which a document to be scanned is laid; an image sensor running straightly under the transparent window for capturing an image recorded on the document, a unit for driving the image sensor; a guide shaft for guiding the straight movement of the image sensor; and an image sensor carrier connected to the driving unit and the guide shaft for straightly moving the image sensor along the guide shaft when the driving unit operates. The image sensor carrier has an image sensor mounting surface on which the image sensor is mounted, and a guide shaft holder integrally formed with the image sensor mounting surface and mounted on the guide shaft.
ORIGINAL READING APPARATUS
An original reading apparatus includes: a reading unit configured to read an original placed on a platen while moving in a predetermined direction in a housing; a sensor provided in the housing and configured to detect presence of the original in a predetermined position on the platen to identify a size of the original; a holding member movable in the housing and configured to hold the sensor and a cable extending from the sensor; and a cover configured to cover a predetermined space on a rear side of the platen mounted to the housing. A grip portion used by an operator to move the holding member is provided at one end of the holding member extending to the predetermined space through an opening portion in a wall on a rear side of the housing. When the cover is removed, the operator is allowed to grip the grip portion.
Scanning system and method with file folder apparatus
A device, e.g., multi-functional scanner (MFS), for handling a paper holder (folder) having an upper cover and a lower cover, the MFS including a control circuit, a platform configured to receive the paper holder, and a lifting mechanism comprising an adhesive member. The adhesive member is configured to removably attach to the upper cover of the paper holder. The lifting mechanism is configured to flip the upper cover of the paper holder open when the adhesive member is attached to the upper cover. The lifting mechanism is configured to detach from the paper holder and return to its original position away from the paper holder after the upper cover is flipped open. Also provided are methods of automatically opening a paper holder and processing (e.g., scanning, printing) the documents contained inside.
Media ramp with film
Examples disclosed herein relate to a device including a media ramp, in examples, the device includes a scanner disposed in a scan zone to image a medium traveling across the scan zone; a transparent member disposed over the scan zone; a media ramp disposed adjacent to the scan zone to direct the medium to an exit; and a film element disposed underneath the transparent member and adjacent to the scan zone at a first end and disposed to extend over at least a portion of the media ramp at a second end.
IMAGE READING APPARATUS
An original image is read as an aggregate of a plurality of pixels in which adjacent pixels have different colors (R, G, and B) in a main scanning direction and in a sub-scanning direction, and the read pixels of the respective colors are stored in a line memory in association with information on relative positions of the pixels with respect to another pixel. Then, the stored pixels are sorted so that pixels having the same color are adjacent to each other, and an abnormal pixel (dust) not present in the original image is detected based on the state of the sorted pixels. With this, the dust not present in the original image is detected without increasing the cost, and the dust is corrected without forming a conspicuous trace of correction.

IMAGE READING APPARATUS, METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THE SAME, AND STORAGE MEDIUM
An image reading apparatus, includes an image sensor, a drive mechanism configured to cause the image sensor to move in a first direction and a second direction opposite to the first direction, a reference plate, and a control unit configured to execute a first reading method of detecting a first reference position by driving the image sensor in the first direction and reading the reference plate, thereafter reading a document by driving the image sensor in the first direction, and a second reading method of detecting a second reference position by driving the image sensor in the second direction and reading the reference plate, and thereafter reading a document by driving the image sensor in the second direction.
