An image forming apparatus includes an image forming unit configured to form an image on a sheet, a conveyance unit configured to convey the sheet from the image forming unit to a reading position, a sensor configured to output a signal synchronized with a conveyance speed of the conveyance unit, a reading unit configured to read the sheet while the sheet conveyed by the conveyance unit passes through the reading position, and an adjustment unit configured to adjust, based on a reading result of the sheet read by the reading unit and the signal output by the sensor, misregistration between an image to be formed on a first surface of the sheet by the image forming unit and an image to be formed on a second surface of the sheet by the image forming unit.

A print data generator includes a storage storing processor-executable instructions causing a processor to perform a process to generate print data from original full-color data. The process includes when a hue value of a pixel is within a specific hue range for an emphasis color, setting a density value of a reference color of the pixel based on a value value of the pixel, and setting a density of the emphasis color of the pixel based on a saturation value of the pixel and a difference value between the hue value of the pixel and a hue value of the emphasis color, and when the hue value of the pixel is out of the specific hue range, setting the density value of the reference color based on a luminance value of the pixel derived from RGB data, arid setting the density value of the emphasis color to zero.

An image forming apparatus includes: a photosensitive member; an exposure unit configured to divide one pixel into a plurality of pixel pieces and perform exposure on a pixel piece-by-pixel piece basis, to form an electrostatic latent image on the photosensitive member; a determination unit configured to determine, based on image data, an isolated pixel surrounded by blank pixels in the electrostatic latent image; a selection unit configured to select a correction target pixel from the blank pixels surrounding the isolated pixel; and a correction unit configured to correct the image data so as to expose a pixel piece of the correction target pixel.

A multifunctional printer comprising a printer section, an auto-document feeder, a scanner section, and a finisher, wherein a finisher path leads from the auto-document feeder into the printer section and converges with a print path into a shared finisher path leading to the finisher, such that documents scanned with the auto-document feeder can be conveyed to the finisher such that it can perform a finishing operation on the documents.

An image reading apparatus including an upper unit provided so as to be openable and closeable with respect to a lower unit, wherein the lower unit includes a two dimensional sensor that is disposed so as to face a medium fed from a medium support portion that supports the medium and detects movement of the medium in a two dimensional coordinate system, and a cover that switches a state in conjunction with opening and closing of the upper unit, exposes the two dimensional sensor in a state in which the upper unit is closed, and covers the two dimensional sensor in a state in which the upper unit is opened.

A system for processing document to scan the documents to obtain optical image data representing the document is provided. The system (10) includes elements that reduce or eliminate the effects of debris that can create streaks in the scanned images. One element is a recess (174) in the lens (170) through which an imaging device (60) scans the document. Another element is a guide (80) having an opening (84) opposing the lens (70, 170) of the imaging device (60). The opening (84) reduces or eliminates light reflecting off the guide back to the imaging device so that the area around the document is scanned as black.

Provided is an image reading apparatus including a first image reading unit which reads a surface of a medium which is transported along a transport path; a second image reading unit which reads a surface of the medium once the medium is mounted on a medium reading surface; and an opening/closing member switch between a closed position and an opened position with respect to the medium reading surface, in which at least a part of the medium reading surface overlaps at least a part of the first image reading unit in an apparatus height direction. Transporting apparatus includes a transporting section configured to transport continuous-form paper, an imaging apparatus including a light applying section for emitting light toward the continuous-form paper, and an imaging element for taking images of continuous-form paper based on the light from the light applying section, a transportation amount computing section configured to compute the transportation amount of the continuous-form paper based on the images of the continuous-form paper, and a transporting control section configured to control the transporting section based on the transportation amount. The imaging element includes a valid pixel area including a plurality of pixels where electric charge can be accumulated in accordance with the light reflected on the continuous-form paper, and a shading area including a plurality of pixels where the reflected light can be shaded. The light applying section emits light within a duration of reading a pixel signal of the shading area.
