Disclosed is an image forming apparatus. The present image forming apparatus comprises: an input unit for receiving a scanning option; a communication unit for transmitting the received scanning option to another image forming apparatus; a scanning unit for scanning a first document according to the scanning option and generating first scanned data; and a control unit for receiving second scanned data in which a second document is scanned according to the scanning option in another image forming apparatus, and combining the first scanned data and the second scanned data.

An image processing system includes plural image processing devices connected with each other by a network. In the one image processing device, in a case where a new job accepted by a job accepting unit may not be executed immediately, a control unit transmits image data related to the job to the other image processing device capable of image processing and causes the other image processing device to execute image processing. An information processing system comprising: a plurality of information processing apparatuses that perform a plurality of tasks defined by work flow information, wherein the work flow information is information that defines an order of the tasks and defines an information processing apparatus that assumes a host device for performing each of the tasks, one information processing apparatus selected from among the information processing apparatuses is definable as the host device, the information processing apparatus defined as the host device performs each of the tasks defined in the work flow information in the defined order, and one information processing apparatus selected according to a predetermined determination condition performs a task for which the work flow information defines the one information processing apparatus selected from among the information processing apparatuses as the host device.

Provided is an information processing apparatus that efficiently executes a series of tasks related to reading a document. An information processing system includes an upstream server, image forming apparatuses and a regional server. An apparatus-information-acquiring unit of the upstream server acquires apparatus information from plural image forming apparatuses. A task-sharing unit shares the respective tasks of a series of tasks for document data that is read by a specified image forming apparatus, based on a storage unit that is an apparatus-information-storage unit that stores an ID, position information that indicates a position in a network, and performance information for that image forming apparatuses that is included in the apparatus information. The task-sharing unit, in accordance with the ID and performance information of plural image forming apparatuses, determines and shares tasks so as to be executed by image forming apparatuses that are at nearby positions in the network.

A server, system, and method are disclosed for ensuring uniform level of color of distributed print jobs, wherein each of the plurality of printers is configured to conduct color validation and/or color calibration based on a first criterion. The server having a processor configured to: receive, from a client computer, a request relating to a print job; determine whether the received print job is a split job, which can be split amongst the plurality of the printers; filter at least two printers each having an in-line spectrophotometer from the plurality of printers; and instruct to the each filtered at least two printers so that color validation and/or color calibration is performed based on a second criterion by using the in-line spectrophotometer, wherein the second criterion causes color validation and/or color calibration at each of the each filtered at least two printers to be performed earlier than the first criterion.
