Disclosed herein are a method and apparatus for performing print jobs in a printing system including a host device and a printing device. The method of performing print jobs in a printing system including a host device and a printing device includes: requesting printing while transmitting print data and identifications (IDs) corresponding to one or more print jobs, included in a job list, to the printing device; if an identification (ID) corresponding to at least one completed print job is received from the printing device, updating the job list by deleting a print job corresponding to the received ID from the job list; if an error has occurred in the printing system, determining whether the error has been resolved; and if it is determined that the error has been resolved, resuming printing.

An inkjet image forming apparatus includes a transferer and a hardware processor. The transferer transfers, onto a recording medium, ink that is ejected from an inkjet head and is borne on a transfer member. The hardware processor performs control for reducing transferability of the ink in a case where the ink borne on the transfer member is not-to-be-transferred ink, compared with a case where the ink is to-be-transferred ink.

A preview screen includes a message indicating that double feeding of documents (i.e., sheets) has been detected, and image data corresponding to one or more read documents if the double feeding of documents is detected, and further provides a countermeasure method to the double feeding of documents in the preview screen.

An image forming apparatus includes an operation device that is connected to the image forming apparatus and receives an operation to the image forming apparatus; a processing unit that performs a predetermined processing by a first application in the image forming apparatus or the operation device; an error detecting unit that detects the error in the processing by the first application; a control unit that starts up a second application to resolve the error upon the error is detected; a transmission unit that transmits error data formed based on the contents of the error from the first application to the second application; and a display unit that displays the operation screen of the second application based on the error data.

A method of recovering a nested printing job and a respective printing system are disclosed. The method includes determining possible recovery points for the nested printing job; identifying secured recovery points within the possible recovery points; selecting one secured recovery point when the nested printing job stops due to an error; and resuming the nested printing job at the selected recovery point.

An information processing apparatus includes a display, at least one memory, and at least one processor electrically coupled to the memory, the processor being configured to: detect the presence or absence of a malfunction of the information processing apparatus; perform a reboot operation upon detecting the malfunction; determine whether or not all modules have finished start-up; suspend the reboot operation to display predetermined information on the display, upon detecting the malfunction at start-up of the information processing apparatus and determining that all modules have not finished start-up; and hide the predetermined information to resume the reboot operation, upon determining that all modules have finished the start-up or detecting a predetermined period elapsing after the malfunction is detected.

An inspection apparatus is provided, which is operable to inspect a cut sheet that is supplied to a post-processing apparatus that post-processes sheets in units of books and on which an image has been formed by an image forming apparatus. The inspection apparatus inspects an image formed on a sheet for each sheet; manages results of sheet inspection by the inspection unit for respective books including a plurality of sheets; and notifies, the post-processing apparatus of a result of inspecting a book including the sheet that is based on the managed sheet inspection results.

The present invention directs to an image processing apparatus comprising: a plurality of units each holding individual operation logs; a memory device that stores a set of instructions; and at least one processor that executes the set of instructions to: detect an error that has occurred in the image processing apparatus; determine the type of the detected error; decide a unit which obtains operation logs from among the plurality of units and an order in which the operation logs are obtained, in accordance with the determined type of the error, and based on the decided unit and order, obtain the operation logs from the decided unit and store the operation logs in a non-volatile memory.

An image forming apparatus manages restart setting information that defines settings related to restarting of remote connection with a computer, controls remote connection, and changes the restart setting information according to an instruction. When remote connection is terminated as a result of a function that terminates remote connection being executed, if the restart setting information includes a setting for automatically restarting remote connection, remote connection is automatically restarted and, if the restart setting information includes a setting for not automatically restarting remote connection, remote connection is not automatically restarted.
