A base station transmits a signal transmission to a mobile broadband (MBB) user equipment (UE) device and to a machine type communication (MTC) device that is in close proximity to the MBB UE device where the signal transmission includes control channel and a data channel. The control channel includes common location dependent control information that applies to the MTC device and the MBB UE device because they are at the same location.

An information processing apparatus includes a processor. A first power-off state, which accompanies a reset of hardware and a restart of a program, and a second power-off state, which does not accompany the reset of the hardware and the restart of the program, are defined as states of a power supply of the information processing apparatus. The processor is configured to change, if an operation for turning off the information processing apparatus is performed after an error occurs in the information processing apparatus, a state of the power supply to the first power-off state or the second power-off state in accordance with a type of error that has occurred in the information processing apparatus.

An image forming system including an image forming apparatus and portable terminals is provided. The image forming apparatus comprises a unit that detects an error as a cause of an interrupt of image formation and transmits an error occurrence notification to each terminal, and a unit that, upon receiving a recovery operation start notification from a terminal and determining that a recovery operation for the error is started, transmits the recovery operation start notification to each terminal. Each terminal comprises a user interface that, upon receiving the error occurrence notification, displays an error notification screen, transmits the recovery operation start notification to the image forming apparatus in accordance with an operation by a user, and upon receiving the recovery operation start notification from the image forming apparatus, displays a recovery operation start screen on the user interface unit.

An information processing apparatus includes an interface and circuitry. The interface communicates with an auxiliary device via a first communication channel and a second communication channel. The first communication channel and the second communication channel are each separately exchange communications between the information processing apparatus and the auxiliary device. The circuitry obtains failure information indicating a communication failure occurring in the first communication channel, sends a shutdown instruction via the second communication channel in response to a determination to reboot the information processing apparatus, the shutdown instruction instructing the auxiliary device to shut down, and reboots the information processing apparatus.

An apparatus includes circuitry to receive an input of problem information that is information on a problem, transmit the problem information to an information processing apparatus communicably connected to the apparatus via a network, and receive, from the information processing apparatus, troubleshooting information corresponding to the problem information. The troubleshooting information is information for solving the problem. The circuitry outputs the troubleshooting information, and transmits, to an extraneous resource, a repair request including the problem information and information indicating whether the troubleshooting information has been output.

The present invention directs to an image processing apparatus comprising: a plurality of units each holding individual operation logs; a memory device that stores a set of instructions; and at least one processor that executes the set of instructions to: detect an error that has occurred in the image processing apparatus; determine the type of the detected error; decide a unit which obtains operation logs from among the plurality of units and an order in which the operation logs are obtained, in accordance with the determined type of the error, and based on the decided unit and order, obtain the operation logs from the decided unit and store the operation logs in a non-volatile memory.

An information processing system includes an operating unit that receives an input in response to a user operation and that runs under a first operating system; and a main body that runs under a second operating system and operates in response to the input received by the operating unit. The main body includes a generation unit that generates a command to direct rendering of a screen corresponding to an application being executed, and a command transmission control unit that provides control to transmit the command to the operating unit. Disclosed herein are a method and apparatus for performing print jobs in a printing system including a host device and a printing device. The method of performing print jobs in a printing system including a host device and a printing device includes: requesting printing while transmitting print data and identifications (IDs) corresponding to one or more print jobs, included in a job list, to the printing device; if an identification (ID) corresponding to at least one completed print job is received from the printing device, updating the job list by deleting a print job corresponding to the received ID from the job list; if an error has occurred in the printing system, determining whether the error has been resolved; and if it is determined that the error has been resolved, resuming printing.

An image processing apparatus includes: a first hardware processor that sets cooperative processing including first processing and second processing that cooperate with each other in a server that provides a service that determines the cooperative processing; a second hardware processor that receives a command to execute the first processing; a third hardware processor that generates alternative processing in place of the first processing in a case where it is detected that the command cannot be received after the cooperative processing has been set; and a fourth hardware processor that executes the alternative processing.

In accordance with an embodiment, an information processing apparatus comprises a storage device and a controller. The storage device stores system information relating to a system of the information processing apparatus. The controller executes a recovery processing on the storage device using recovery information stored in a storage medium for storing the recovery information necessary for recovering the system information.
