System and method for creating a virtual journey experience
A system for creating a virtual journey experience comprises an environment having at least a first side and a second side and an interior space therebetween, a first number of video displays located at the first side of the interior space facing into the interior space and spaced apart from one another, a second number of video displays located at the second side of the interior space and facing into the interior space and spaced apart from one another, and a video content presentation system, the video content presentation system configured to cause the first number of video displays to present video content captured by one or more cameras from a first side of a moving object and cause the second number of video displays to present video content captured by one or more cameras from a second side of the object.
In-transport multi-channel media delivery
Embodiments provide efficient delivery of multiple media channels to in-transport terminals, for example, to reduce channel zapping delay in a bandwidth efficient manner. For example, an in-transport media (ITM) server can distribute multiple channel offerings to ITM clients in a transport craft. Meanwhile, the ITM server can monitor which channel offerings are presently being consumed via the ITM clients, and can transmit feedback to a remote media server, accordingly. Based on the feedback, the ITM server can receive the channel offerings from the remote media server, in such a way that one or more of the channel offerings is received as a low-fidelity instance when not presently being consumed via any of the ITM clients, and one or more of the channel offerings is received as a high-fidelity instance when presently being consumed via at least one of the ITM clients.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR DELIVERING ADVERTISEMENT CONTENT TO CONNECTED VEHICLES
Systems and methods for increasing an effect of advertisement delivery are provided. The system includes a server and a connected vehicle. The server may be coupled to a database of advertisements and the connected vehicle having external and internal displays may be coupled to the server. Based on input by a user of the connected vehicle from a starting location to a destination, the connected vehicle may be configured to determine a first maximum reward route, which may be determined based in part on a maximum driving distance, a maximum driving time, or a sum of rewards within a route. The connected vehicle may be configured to receive one or more advertisements from the server for reproduction, which are selected based in part on location information of the connected vehicle, local time information, or attributes of people around the connected vehicle. As a result, the advertisements delivery effect is greatly increased.
Terminal edge in-flight entertainment system
Courier electronic devices are used to transport seat video display unit (SVDU) operating system (OS) code updates from a content operation center to onboard a vehicle. The OS code used by the SVDUs is updated based on the OS code update to generate an updated OS code, which is used to curate entertainment content files from a mass storage device for selection among by passengers for their consumption through the SVDUs. Entertainment content files may also be selected by the content operation center based on passenger characteristic information and loaded onto the courier electronic devices for transport onboard the vehicle for transfer to the S VDUs to update the entertainment content that is made available for selection by the passengers. The courier electronic devices may be used to facilitate transportation of other information between the SVDUs in the content operation center.
LANDING PAGE REDIRECT WITH SYNCHRONIZED MINI-SERVERS
Techniques for redirecting a client device from a server to a mini-server are disclosed herein. Initially, the client device establishes a connection with the server. The server provides a landing page to the client device, where the landing page is programmed to include an element that, when selected, redirects the client device away from its connection with the server. In response to a selection of the element, the client device establishes a connection with the mini-server. The mini-server is part of a first local area network (LAN), and, as a result of switching networks, the client device is now a part of a second LAN. The two LANs are connected to one another via a network bridge. The mini-server is able to receive input from the client device and synchronize that input across other mini-servers in the first LAN in order to redundantly store the input.
Systems and methods for securely providing preview samples of media content distributed to in-flight entertainment systems
Systems and methods for providing preview samples of media content, such as early window movies, which is secure against unauthorized copying of the media content. The system includes a media receiving server configured to receive secure media content, such as early window movies, from a movie provider. The media receiving server generates a preview sample including a video sample including a series of still digital images from the video file, each separated by a time interval in the video file from the other still digital images in the series of still digital images; and an audio sample including a series of audio clips from the video file, each separated by a time interval in the video file from the other audio clips in the series of audio clips. A customer of the media content can review the sample preview on a customer portal, but cannot access the original media content.
Systems and methods for determining portions of media assets for immediate retrieval by multiple devices
Systems and methods are disclosed for determining portions of media assets for cooperative reception by multiple devices. The disclosed techniques herein include identifying cooperating devices that are able to communicate with a selected device for relaying portions of a media asset. For example, a group of people each travelling together in a vehicle may wish to view a media asset by cooperatively using their network resources of their smartphones to relay portions of the media asset for viewing. Network service data for each of the plurality of cooperating devices is then received. Based on the network service data, a determination is made for each cooperating device regarding reception of a respective portion of the media asset to each cooperating device. Instructions to receive and relay the respective portions of the media asset are transmitted to each cooperating device.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SYNCHRONIZED DATA PLAYBACK AND AIRCRAFT
A system for synchronized data playback comprising at least one offset calculation device; and a plurality of clients; wherein the plurality of clients are each synchronized to a shared reference timeframe, each of the plurality of clients is configured to receive a common set of timestamped data frames, the offset calculation device is configured to determine a synchronized playback time for each of the common set of timestamped data frames with respect to the shared reference timeframe; and each of the plurality of clients is configured to playback each of the common set of timestamped data frames at the respective determined playback time.
Playback control of media content across devices in MaaS transportion network
A system and method for playback control of media content across devices in a MaaS transportation network is provided. The system receives, from a MaaS network, trip details of an ongoing trip and determines a first vehicle by which a user is set to complete an active first leg of the ongoing trip. The system generates media content recommendations based on the trip details and controls a first display device in use inside the first vehicle, to display such recommendations. The system receives a selection of a first content recommendation and controls a playback of first media content associated with the selection on the first display device. The system detects an event which requires the playback to pause and controls the playback to resume on a second display device in use inside a second vehicle, within duration of a second leg of the ongoing trip or a different trip.
Content security on in-vehicle entertainment
A system for providing entertainment on a vehicle for passengers is described. The system includes (a) a server storing media files and corresponding media keys and (b) monitors storing subsets of the media files and the corresponding media keys. The system includes a server disposed on the vehicle to store the media files and the media keys for the vehicle; monitors disposed on the vehicle to present media selections to passengers corresponding to the media files stored by the server, locally, or on other monitors disposed on the vehicle, and receive an input from a passenger for playing one of the selections. The system also includes selectively revoking the media keys on the server or the monitors. Program logic executed by the server and the monitors implements secure, digital rights management processes as they pertain to the media files presented on the vehicle.
