METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR RESPONDING TO INOPERATIVE COMMANDS
Systems, apparatus, and methods are described for responding to inoperative commands on a server device. In some embodiments, the disclosed technology facilitates pausing of content being played on a device without creating a bookmark of the location in the content at which the content was paused. In response to receiving the request to pause the content from playing, the server device generates a pause instruction to pause the content from playing. Upon expiry of a timeout interval, the server device automatically transforms the pause instruction into a stop instruction, which when executed causes stopping the content from playing. In some embodiments, the server device detects an user interaction event, prior to expiry of the timeout interval. Non-limiting examples of the user interaction may be shutting down the server device, switching from the content to a live broadcast program, switching from the content to another content, or exiting from the content.
Server and program
In an aspect of the present invention, a server comprises a calculating unit, a determination unit, and a contribution implementing unit. The calculating unit calculates an index corresponding to the predicted value of an item contributed to the content. The determination unit determines the consideration provided to a viewer of the content based on the index in order to implement contribution of the item to the content. When an implementation request for the contributed item is received, the contribution implementing unit superimposes on the content an image of the item that is the subject of the implementation request in exchange for a consideration. The determination unit determines the consideration as a first value when the index is equivalent to a first predicted value and determines the consideration as a second value greater than the first value when the index is equivalent to a second predicted value, which corresponds to contribution of items that are more active in the content than those of the first predicted value.
METHODS FOR PROVIDING ACCESS TO RECORDINGS OF GAME PLAY AND GENERATION OF CUSTOM CAMERA VIEWS OF THE GAME PLAY
A computer-implemented method is provided. The method includes executing a game application on one or more servers of a data center. The game application is for a game and the game is played by a first user of a first client device remote to the data center. The one or more servers interfaced with one or more encoders for compressing interactive video from the game application responsive to input from the first client device and streaming of the interactive video in a compressed format to the first client device for decompression and rendering to a display of the first client device. The method includes storing, at the data center, a recording of at least part of the game played by the first user using the first client device. The method includes storing, at the data center, state data for at least part of the game played by the first user using the first client device. The method includes generating a replay of the recording responsive to input from a second user device. The replay is generated with a different camera view from a camera view in the recording. The replay is executed using as input the state data.

Video-based data collection, image capture and analysis configuration
In a system for video data capture and sharing client devices may include one or more video cameras and sensors to capture video data and to generate associated metadata. A cloud-based component may receive metadata from the client devices and requests for sharing video data captured by other client devices. Client devices with requested video data are identified by matching their provided metadata to the sharing request and by their response to an image search query for an object of interest specified in the request.
Content-aware predictive bitrate ladder
Methods, systems, and apparatuses may encode a media content item based on metadata from previous encoding. The encoding may also generate encoding metadata, which may comprise a qualitative or quantitative characterization of the encoded media content item. A prediction engine may, based on this metadata, determine new encoding settings for the same or a different video resolution. The prediction engine may cause an encoded media content item to be stored and may cause encoding of the media content item using the new encoding settings.
DEVICES AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING REMOTE CONTROL HINTS ON A DISPLAY
Systems and methods for a media content user interface. A media content provider includes storage for storing and serving video content to subscribers. The media content provider records and or otherwise stores video content from around the world. Subscribers are provided a user interface to the system that includes a side bar. The user interface provides context sensitive hints to assist the viewer. The system also tracks a viewer's viewing history in a manner that allows the viewer to review and directly access any part of that history. Finally, magnetic points are created for use during video scrubbing to intelligently select relocation points for the current playback position.
PROVIDING ACCESS TO MANAGED CONTENT
A method for providing local access to managed content is disclosed. The method comprises receiving from a remote host a request to perform an operation with respect to content associated with a set of managed content and obtaining information required to respond to the request. The method further comprises providing in response to the request a content locator usable to perform the requested operation through direct communication with a content system through which the content is accessible.
DISTRIBUTED MULTI-DATACENTER VIDEO PACKAGING SYSTEM
A content streaming system and methodology for facilitating the management of content streaming. A video packaging and origination service requests streaming content that is organized according to content segments. Individual content segments will be encoded according to a plurality of encoding profiles and generated by different encoders. The video packaging and origination service utilizes synchronization information provided to the encoders to select individual encoded content segments responsive to the request for streaming content.
