20220124400 · 2022-04-21 · ·

Disclosed herein are system, apparatus, article of manufacture, method and/or computer program product embodiments, and/or combinations and sub-combinations thereof, for providing over-the-air (OTA) content to electronic devices. Some embodiments operate by automatically providing program listings of OTA content to the electronic devices, wherein the program listings are displayed in user interfaces of the electronic devices; receiving a user selection of particular OTA content from one of the electronic devices; receiving electronic signals containing OTA content from an antenna; processing, using a tuner, the received electronic signals to extract the particular OTA content therefrom; and transmitting the extracted OTA content to the electronic device for playback. In some embodiments, the extracted OTA content is stored in storage of said the electronic device for future on-demand playback to the user.

Media packaging

Described are methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer program products for packaging media. In some embodiments, the technology relates to a computer-implemented method of packaging media files. A list of one or more media asset IDs is received by a media packaging server. A packaging template is received by the media packaging server. One or more media files based on a media asset ID in the list of the one or more media asset IDs and the packaging template are retrieved, by the media packaging server. Metadata associated with the media asset ID based on the packaging template is retrieved by the media packaging server. The one or more media files and the metadata are packaged by the media packaging server into a delivery package in a packaging format indicated by the packaging template.

Edge network system for service-less video multicast

The typical service to deliver multimedia content is evolved Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service (eMBMS). However, the eMBMS is a service-oriented network architecture requiring a pre-defined and pre-established user service to stream a live video. The content provider must be a multicast service provider to use the eMBMS services, which many typical content providers are not. Accordingly, the present disclosure provides a live video streaming network architecture that enhances the eMBMS architecture to enable service-less multicast delivery. The provided system includes a virtual network function service running on an application server (AS) that identifies potential multicast scenarios based on user requests for a live video stream within a confined area. The AS collects information from the cellular users, checks the information to validate a potential multicast scenario, and transmits the information to the eMBMS core on behalf of the content provider and user equipment to instantiate a multicast resource bearer.

In one embodiment, an edge compute node comprises processing circuitry to: receive an incoming video stream captured by a camera, wherein the incoming video stream comprises a plurality of video segments; store the plurality of video segments in a receive buffer in a memory; perform a visual computing task on a first video segment in the receive buffer; detect a resource overload on the edge compute node; receive load information corresponding to a plurality of peer compute nodes; select a peer compute node to perform the visual computing task on a second video segment in the receive buffer; replicate the second video segment from the edge compute node to the peer compute node; and receive a compute result from the peer compute node, wherein the compute result is based on the peer compute node performing the visual computing task on the second video segment.

Geolocationing system and method for use of same

A geolocationing system and method for providing awareness in a multi-space environment, such as a hospitality environment or educational environment, are presented. In one embodiment of the geolocationing system, a vertical and horizontal array of gateway devices is provided. Each gateway device includes a gateway device identification providing an accurately-known fixed location within the multi-space environment. Each gateway device includes a wireless transceiver that receives a beacon signal from a proximate wireless-enabled personal locator device. The gateway devices, in turn, send gateway signals to a server, which determines estimated location of the wireless-enabled personal locator device with time of arrival modeling.

Method and apparatus for coordinated content delivery in multicast/broadcast networks

A method, apparatus and computer program products are provided for facilitating coordinated content delivery in multicast/broadcast networks. One example method includes receiving content from a service provider during a content service period, identifying a content service break period, the content service break period characterized by a break in transmission of content from the service provider intended for user devices, fetching localized content, and causing delivery of the localized content during the content service break period, the delivery of the localized content being performed via Xcast to determine a most radio resource efficient delivery mechanism.

PROGRAM, RECORDING MEDIUM, AND REPRODUCING APPARATUS

The problem to be solved is to make it possible to download via a network, efficiently manage, retrieve, and reproduce an external content associated with a content recorded on a recording medium. To solve the problem, a program is used which controls reproduction of information located on a recording medium and related information. The program includes the steps of: obtaining from the outside specific information associated with predetermined information recorded on a recording medium; and obtaining medium identification information located on a recording medium; wherein if the specific information has been obtained, a storage unit in a reproducing apparatus is controlled to associate the specific information with the medium identification information for storage.

Some embodiments of the present disclosure provide a server system associated with a media-providing service. The server system receives, from a first client device, video content created by the first client device. The server system receives, from the first client device, an indication that the video content is to be associated with a song provided by the media-providing service. The server system provides, to a second client device, the video content in combination with the song. The server system provides, to the second client device, concurrently with the video content and the song, visual display of metadata about the song, including a name of the song.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ACTIVE CONTENT DISTRIBUTION VIA A RESIDENTIAL GATEWAY

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a method including facilitating communications between a wide area network (WAN) and a local area network (LAN), executing an application mirror, associated with a media server coupled to the WAN, via an operating system at the residential gateway device, prefetching, via the application mirror, a plurality of prefetched media content from the media server according to a client application associated with the media server and operating at user device coupled to the LAN, storing, via the application mirror, the plurality of prefetched media content, determining, via the application mirror, that the plurality of prefetched media content includes a first media content, and responsive to the determining the plurality of prefetched media content includes the first media content, transmitting, via the application mirror, the first media content to the client application at the user device. Other embodiments are disclosed.
