Elastic cloud video editing and multimedia search

Technologies for cloud-based media search and editing include a video editor configured to build a media query and associate the media query with a dynamic content slot of a media program. When generating video output based on the media program, the video editor transmits the media query to a cloud analytics server and receives 5 search results identifying one or more media clips produced by a number of mobile computing devices. The video editor may display a list of clips for selection by the user or may automatically include one of the clips in the output. The cloud analytics server transmits an acceptance policy defining criteria for acceptable media, based on the media query, to the mobile computing devices. The mobile computing devices configure 10 capture settings according to the acceptance policy and may display a user interface to assist the user in capturing acceptable media. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

Binary Media Broadcast Distribution System
20170357647 · 2017-12-14 ·

A database engine for binary audio and video data. The system creates, retrieves, updates and deletes audio and video binary data from a database. Binary video data stored in a database residing on memory plays faster and is more easily manipulated. The database engine dynamically reads, understands, converts and/or encodes video binary code. Media can be manipulated, encoded for media player format playback, compressed for mobile or HD devices or edited and spliced in binary state for commercial injection of pre-roll, mid-roll and post-roll commercials. The database engine enables databases to be clustered and replicated in memory and run in memory, and outputs video binary data and metadata in memory in real time. Output playback is manipulated in memory where playback format is determined by the requested player and formatted for playback in binary form at the time of playback.

Methods and Systems for Generation of Dynamic Multicast Channel Maps

A server structure (101) includes one or more multicast servers (106). An analytics engine (207) determines one or more channel maps (217) identifying a group of channels that will be delivered by the multicast servers across a network (104). The analytics engine determines the one or more channel maps as a function of both historical data corresponding to one or more client groups (204,205,206) operating in one or more zones (201,202,203), and optionally from near real time data such as electronic program guide metadata provided by an electronic program guide metadata manager (213). A flap detector (210) can determine one or more flapping thresholds (405,406,407) identifying channels in the group of channels delivered by the multicast servers, as well as whether channels having flapping frequencies greater than the flapping threshold should remain in the group of channels delivered by the multicast servers.

CUSTOMIZED GENERATION OF HIGHLIGHTS SHOW WITH NARRATIVE COMPONENT

Customized highlight shows for sporting events, entertainment events, and/or the like, having a narrative component, are generated and presented. The events can be sporting events, entertainment events, and/or the like. For example, in the context of sporting events, a determination is made as to what types of sports, teams, leagues, players, plays, and/or the like are of interest to the user. A customized highlight show is then generated and presented, containing those specific portions of the sporting events that are likely to be of interest, arranged in a manner that is likely to be entertaining and interesting to the user and that presents a cohesive narrative.

World View Window

Arrangement and method in which at least one server is coupled to imaging sources that obtain high resolution videos of scenic locations, a series of images constituting a video. Stream controllers are located at user sites and coupled to the server. The stream controllers are controlled, e.g., by user interfaces, to select one of the imaging sources to provide high resolution streaming video to the stream controller via the server. A display system is coupled to each stream controller and configured to display streaming video from the selected imaging source.

DATA REPOSITORY FOR SPORTS AND ENTERTAINMENT INFORMATION

A method, system, apparatus, and computer program product provide/deliver information during a live broadcast. Information feeds (that include attributes and values) are ingested via a plug-in architecture, into an application server. The application server drives the information feeds into a database, and distributes the attributes to a web server. The web server exposes, using a web service, the attributes clients. The web service enables clients to select a set of the attributes and configure, for visual display, the values corresponding to the selected set of the attributes. The values are composited in real-time, based on the configuration, with live audio-video content. The composited elements and live audio-video content are broadcast/streamed live.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR RETRIEVING SEGMENTED MEDIA GUIDANCE DATA
20230171461 · 2023-06-01 ·

Systems and methods are presented for reducing network traffic when retrieving media guidance data. For example, a media guidance application receives a first user selection to display a group of media asset identifiers (e.g., video-on-demand listings) and retrieves detailed information from a remote server relating to the media asset identifiers to display to a user. The media guidance application then may receive a user selection to display a second group of media asset identifiers (e.g., purchased media assets). If any of the media asset identifiers are common to both groups, then the media guidance application already obtained the detailed information and the detailed information does not need to be retransmitted in order to be displayed. Thus, the media guidance application only retrieves detailed information for media asset identifiers unique to the second group of media asset identifiers (e.g., they are only on the purchased media asset list).

METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR LOADING AND ROLL-OFF OF REFERENCE MEDIA ASSETS
20230171465 · 2023-06-01 ·

Methods, apparatus, systems, and articles of manufacture are disclosed for loading and roll-off of reference media assets. Example apparatus disclosed herein are to determine whether a first condition to prune a reference media asset is satisfied, and in response to a determination that the first condition is satisfied, determine whether a second condition to prune the reference media asset is satisfied. Disclosed example apparatus are also to, in response to a determination that the second condition is satisfied: segment the reference media asset into a plurality of segments based on a length of the reference media asset, prune a first one of the segments, and retain a second one of the segments in a database to compare with meter data to credit media exposure associated with the reference media asset.

Expanded previously on segments

Techniques are described for providing functionality to allow a viewer of a television show to watch a “previously on” segment of an episode of the television show and be able to watch the scenes from prior episodes referenced in the “previously on” segment.

Subtitle processing method, device and system and storage medium

A subtitle processing method, comprising: receiving an identification code of a video the uploaded by a client; searching and finding out whether a subtitle file corresponding to the identification code exists or not in a video subtitle mapping database; if the subtitle file corresponding to the identification code is found, returning the subtitle search result to the client; or if no subtitle file corresponding to the identification code is found, searching for another identification code located in the same aggregation result for the identification code from a video aggregation database; according to the other identification code, searching and finding out whether a subtitle file corresponding thereto exists or not in the video subtitle mapping database; and returning the subtitle search result to the client. The above-mentioned subtitle processing method can improve the hit rate when searching for subtitle file. In addition, also provided are a subtitle processing device, a subtitle processing system and a storage medium.
