METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR DATACASTING AND CONTENT MANAGEMENT
A method and system of content management for datacasting. Such a system may have, as its core, a dashboard system for managing data feeds. A dashboard system may receive data feeds from one or more associated devices, such as the hardware devices of first responders or other public safety officers, and may aggregate and prioritize them. The dashboard system may then manage, prioritize and encrypt the video, files and other data in preparation for broadcast over the television or satellite transmitter, via, for example, a television broadcasting station, and may then broadcast the video, files, or other data to a plurality of users. Alerts and notifications may be created, files attached and links to video streams distributed over this same broadcast network. The broadcasting system may be able to send multiple streams of content simultaneously, may be able to target specific users to be broadcast to, and may be able to incorporate data from public data sources, such as public security cameras.
Distributed database management system
A distributed database management system provides a central database resident on a server that contains database objects. Objects, e.g., program guide data, to be replicated are gathered together into distribution packages called slices, that are transmitted to client devices. A slice is a subset of the central database which is relevant to clients within a specific domain, such as a geographic region, or under the footprint of a satellite transmitter. The viewer selects television programs and Web content from displayed sections of the program guide data which are recorded to a storage device. The program guide data are used to determine when to start and end recordings. Client devices periodically connect to the server using a phone line and upload information of interest which is combined with information uploaded from other client devices for statistical, operational, or viewing models.
Elementary Bitstream Cryptographic Material Transport Systems and Methods
Systems and methods for providing multimedia content from one process or component to another process or component over an unsecured connection are provided. One embodiment includes obtaining the cryptographic information, extracting the at least partially encrypted video data from the container file to create an elementary bitstream, enciphering the cryptographic information, inserting the cryptographic information in the elementary bitstream, providing the elementary bitstream to a video decoder, extracting the cryptographic information from the elementary bitstream at the video decoder, deciphering the cryptographic information, decrypting the elementary bitstream with the cryptographic information and decoding the elementary bitstream for rendering on a display device using the video decoder.
Broadcast reception device, operating method of broadcast reception device, conditional access module and operating method of conditional access module
A broadcast reception device is provided. The broadcast reception device includes a broadcast reception unit receiving a broadcast signal comprising scrambled content, and a control unit transmitting a first data unit and receiving a second data unit, wherein the first data unit comprises a request for information on the number of devices that play the scrambled content simultaneously with the broadcast reception device and the second data unit comprises a reply to the first data unit.

Dynamic Media Content Output For Mobile Devices
Embodiments of mechanisms for dynamic media content type streaming management for mobile devices are generally described herein. In some embodiments, the mobile device may receive selection input pertaining to generating output from a media file containing at least two of audio data, video data, and closed-captioning data, the selection input selecting at least one of audio, video, and closed-captioning to be output during play of the media content. In some embodiments, the mobile device may generate an audio output as a signal in response to the selection input including audio. In some embodiments, the mobile device may generate a video output as a signal in response to the selection input including video. In some embodiments, the mobile device may generate a closed-captioning output as a signal in response to selection input including closed-captioning.
METHODS AND APPARATUS TO COLLECT DISTRIBUTED USER INFORMATION FOR MEDIA IMPRESSIONS AND SEARCH TERMS
An example method to monitor usage of a device includes collecting first and second identifiers based on use of an application that does not employ cookies, the first identifier identifying at least one of the device or a user of the device to a first database proprietor, and the second identifier identifying the at least one of the device or the user of the device to a second database proprietor; sending the first identifier to a first server associated with the first database proprietor, sending the second identifier to a second server associated with the second database proprietor; and sending to a data collection server at least one of a media identifier indicative of media accessed via the application at the device or a search term used via the application at the device.

MEDIA DISTRIBUTION WITH SAMPLE VARIANTS FOR NORMALIZED ENCRYPTION
A media distribution system and method with sample variants for normalized encryption involves encrypting a main track of a media content asset using a first encryption scheme and encrypting a sample variant track of the media content asset using a second encryption scheme, and performing at least one of: storing the encrypted main track and encrypted sample variant track of the media content asset packaged in a storage format, and transmitting the encrypted main track and the encrypted sample variant track in a distribution container format to an edge media router (EMR) device configured to repackage the media content asset into a delivery container format without reencrypting the media content asset.
EDGE MEDIA ROUTER DEVICE FOR FACILITATING DISTRIBUTION AND DELIVERY OF MEDIA CONTENT HAVING END-TO-END ENCRYPTION
A system and method for facilitating content delivery with end-to-end encryption in a network architecture using a common intermediary mezzanine distribution format (CMZF). An edge media router (EMR) device is provided in one embodiment that is configured to receive a media content asset packaged in a CMZF container structure, wherein the media content asset is provided as CMZF-formatted media content in a CMZF stream scheme. The CMZF container structure, configured to facilitate carriage of ISOBMFF track and track metadata data objects as well as sample variants in PES payload in additional elementary streams, is operative to carry each bitrate representation of the media content asset encrypted in one or more encryption schemes at a headend. Upon receipt, the EMR device is configured to repackage the media content asset to generate one or more output formats without reencrypting the media content asset for storage at a storage node and/or for downstream delivery.
