IMAGE ENCODING AND DECODING METHODS AND APPARATUSES
This application discloses image encoding and decoding methods and apparatuses. The image encoding method includes performing, by a source device, compression encoding on an image to obtain base layer information. The method further includes obtaining enhancement layer information based on the base layer information and the image. The method further includes obtaining control layer information. The method further includes performing encoding and modulation on the control layer information, the base layer information, and the enhancement layer information separately to obtain a plurality of symbol sets. The method further includes mapping the plurality of symbol sets to a resource for sending. Embodiments of this application may ensure robustness in a transmission process and improve overall compression efficiency and performance.
Method and system of managing data files
Methods and systems of inserting image files into a container are described herein. One method includes overseeing a submission of images to containers, retrieving a job of inserting images into the container, and inserting images into the container by, for each of the plurality of images: (i) reading and analyzing source data including the image; (ii) opening the container, which includes records, where the image will be stored; (iii) determining whether the source data is valid to be entered into a record; (iv) responsive to a determination that the source of data is valid, preparing metadata; (v) writing the record into the container; and (vi) marking a status flag/mark of the record as being updated while writing the record into the container.

DVB-S2 downlink ACM algorithm enhancement to improve data throughput
An apparatus for determining a set of transmit parameters capable of improving and/or optimizing data throughput to a destination device. The apparatus includes an input circuit that receives a signal containing a plurality of data blocks for use by a plurality of devices. At least one of the data blocks is associated with the apparatus and encoded using a first set of transmit parameters. A transmit parameter processor determines a signal to noise ratio value for the received signal and a block error rate value for the at least one data block and at least one other data block encoded using a different set of transmit parameters. A processor generates a request for encoding subsequent data blocks destined to the apparatus using a second set of transmit parameters. A method and system are also disclosed.
CODING AND DECODING OF INTERLEAVED IMAGE DATA
Sampled data is packaged in checkerboard format for encoding and decoding. The sampled data may be quincunx sampled multi-image video data (e.g., 3D video or a multi-program stream), and the data may also be divided into sub-images of each image which are then multiplexed, or interleaved, in frames of a video stream to be encoded and then decoded using a standardized video encoder. A system for viewing may utilize a standard video decoder and a formatting device that de-interleaves the decoded sub-images of each frame reformats the images for a display device. A 3D video may be encoded using a most advantageous interleaving format such that a preferred quality and compression ratio is reached. In one embodiment, the invention includes a display device that accepts data in multiple formats.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
Methods and systems for resource management are described. A computing device may determine a duration of a content break satisfies a timing threshold. Based on the duration of the content break satisfying the timing threshold, the computing device may cause an encoder to cease an encoding operation. Based on the duration of the content break satisfying the timing threshold, the computing device may cause the encoder to send to a media device, secondary content and cause the media device to repeatedly output the secondary content rather than sending repeated requests for the secondary content.
