Indirect control of content consumption
Aspects of the disclosure relate to control of consumption of content in an appliance. The content can include linear programming and non-linear assets. Such control can permit (i) changing a channel in the appliance (e.g., a CPE without upstream functionality) and thus selecting a linear-programming asset, a non-linear asset, and so forth, and (ii) controlling consumption of such assets. In one aspect, a device with upstream network connectivity can control the consumption of media in the appliance. The device can leverage data management and control functionality of a service provider network to acquire information related to assets available for consumption and to transmit asset requests to the service provider network, which can transmit content and signaling to the appliance in accordance at least in part with the asset request, thus controlling media consumption in the appliance.
Indirect control of content consumption
Aspects of the disclosure relate to control of consumption of content in an appliance. The content can include linear programming and non-linear assets. In one aspect, a device with upstream network connectivity can control the consumption of media in the appliance. The device can leverage data management and control functionality of a service provider network to acquire information related to assets available for consumption and to transmit asset requests to the service provider network, which can transmit content and signaling to the appliance in accordance at least in part with the asset request, thus controlling media consumption in the appliance.
Narrowcasting to one-way set top boxes
Methods and systems of narrowcasting to a service group having one or more one-way set top boxes are shown and disclosed. The method may include receiving encrypted single program transport streams (SPTSs) from an encryptor, and receiving one or more session control signals for the SPTSs from a switched digital video (SDV) control system. The method may additionally include receiving service information (SI) packet identifiers (PIDs) for the SPTSs from a conditional access (CA) system, and updating the SI PIDs based on the one or more session control signals. The method may further include converting the SPTSs to narrowcast multiprogram transport streams (MPTSs) based on the one or more session control signals, and transmitting the narrowcast MPTSs and the updated SI PIDs to a plurality of edge quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) devices.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR DETECTING AVAILABLE BANDWIDTH BASED ON BURSTINESS OF KEY FRAME OF VIDEO STREAM
A method for detecting an available bandwidth based on a burstiness of a key frame of a video stream, includes: establishing a video connection between a sender and a receiver, and sending the video stream by the sender to the receiver; recording a sending timestamp of each packet at the sender; recording a receiving timestamp of each packet received by the receiver; calculating a difference between the receiving timestamp and the sending timestamp of each packet, and obtaining the packet with the smallest difference and the packet with the greatest difference by traversing the packets in the key frame; and estimating a currently available bandwidth according to the packet with the smallest difference and the packet with the greatest difference.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR DETECTING AVAILABLE BANDWIDTH BASED ON BURSTINESS OF KEY FRAME OF VIDEO STREAM
A method for detecting an available bandwidth based on a burstiness of a key frame of a video stream, includes: establishing a video connection between a sender and a receiver, and sending the video stream by the sender to the receiver; recording a sending timestamp of each packet at the sender; recording a receiving timestamp of each packet received by the receiver; calculating a difference between the receiving timestamp and the sending timestamp of each packet, and obtaining the packet with the smallest difference and the packet with the greatest difference by traversing the packets in the key frame; and estimating a currently available bandwidth according to the packet with the smallest difference and the packet with the greatest difference.
NON-FUNGIBLE TOKENS FOR MEDIA ITEM SAMPLES
The present technology pertains to managing a sample of a media item using a non-fungible token (NFT) and an associated smart contract. The present technology includes identifying a portion of the media item as a sample, and creating an NFT referencing assignment of a right associated with the sample of the media item. The NFT has an associated smart contract defining a condition upon satisfaction of which the right associated with the sample will be assigned. The present technology may also include identifying market data of the media item, where the market data includes at least one of a list price and historical sales volume for the media item, and identifying charts data, critical review scores, and social media interaction with the media items. The market data can be used to determine a spot price for the sample of the media item.

The present technology pertains to managing a sample of a media item using a non-fungible token (NFT) and an associated smart contract. The current invention relates to a computer-generated method for optimizing placement of advertising content across multiple different devices. The system can allocate advertising campaigns and plans to various inventory types based on the probability of accurate consumer matching. Consumer matching can be achieved by generation of look-alike models in a consumer's device graph to predict future consumption behavior. The system includes an interface through which an advertiser can access relevant information about inventory and success of a given placement.
