Caption modification and augmentation systems and methods for use by hearing assisted user
A system and method for facilitating communication between an assisted user (AU) and a hearing user (HU) includes receiving an HU voice signal as the AU and HU participate in a call using AU and HU communication devices, transcribing HU voice signal segments into verbatim caption segments, processing each verbatim caption segment to identify an intended communication (IC) intended by the HU upon uttering an associated one of the HU voice signal segments, for at least a portion of the HU voice signal segments (i) using an associated IC to generate an enhanced caption different than the associated verbatim caption, (ii) for each of a first subset of the HU voice signal segments, presenting the verbatim captions via the AU communication device display for consumption, and (iii) for each of a second subset of the HU voice signal segments, presenting enhanced captions via the AU communication device display for consumption.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SENDING INFORMATION IN LIVE BROADCAST ROOM, AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE
Embodiments of the present application provide a method and an apparatus for sending information in a live broadcast room, and an electronic device, the method includes: receiving a service request sent by a user in a current room; formulating or selecting a screening condition for screening a target room by a configuration center according to service requirements; acquiring the screening condition and screening the target room according to the screening condition; and sending the service request to the target room so as to complete sending information in the live broadcast room.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR SELECTING EFFICIENT ENCODERS FOR STREAMING MEDIA
A computer-implemented method for selecting efficient encoders for streaming media may include (i) predicting that an expected download demand for a higher-demand segment of a media file is higher than an expected download demand for a lower-demand segment, (ii) encoding each segment of the media file with an encoder that correlates to the expected download demand of the segment by (a) encoding the higher-demand segment with a more computationally intensive encoder that produces a more efficiently compressed segment compared to a less computationally intensive encoder that produces a less efficiently compressed segment and (b) encoding the lower-demand segment with the less computationally intensive encoder, and (iii) enabling streaming of the media file by providing the more efficiently compressed encoding of the higher-demand segment and the less efficiently compressed encoding of the lower-demand segment. Various other methods, systems, and computer-readable media are also disclosed.
IMAGE ANALYSIS SYSTEM
A method of using applications of pattern recognition or image analysis is disclosed. A request for a content item is received. A version of the content item is selected from a plurality of versions of the content item based on one or more applications of one or more algorithms. The one or more algorithms include one or more image-analysis algorithms, pattern-recognition algorithms, or genetic algorithms. One or more of the plurality of versions has undergone transformation into a plurality of combinations of content segments that comprise the plurality of versions. The one or more algorithms target one or more success rates with respect to one or more metrics. The selected version of the content item is communicated to the device of the user in response to the request.
Systems, Methods, And Apparatuses For Improved Content Recording And Playback
Methods, systems, and apparatuses for improved content recording and playback are described herein. A user device may concurrently record and output a content item. For example, the user device may be associated with a recording session. A session index may identify the recording session and indicate the user device is concurrently recording and outputting the content item. The session index may be used to ensure that a manifest for the content item is continuously updated.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR OPTIMIZING THE DISTRIBUTION OF AVAILABLE MEDIA PRODUCTION RESOURCES
A system is provided for optimizing the distribution of media production resources. The system includes a grain store having a persistent file system that stores essence grains upon receipt into individual files according to a folder layout. The system also includes a grain store manager that dynamically names the individual files upon receipt of the essence grains to configure the folder layout to form a natural index that maps bytes of the essence grains to a numerical index of the essence grains, respectively, generates a descriptor for flows of files in the folder layout, generates a unique identity for a plurality of sources in the grain store, and receives a media access request from a client device application based on a media production workflow. The grain store then dynamically accesses the essence grains by identifying the unique identity of the respective group of flows and the descriptor for the format.
STORAGE AND DELIVERY DISTINCT MEDIA SEGMENTATION
Storage and delivery distinct media segmentation is performed by receiving a request from a network device for a media asset, retrieving a plurality of first packets from an object storage, each first packet of the plurality of first packets including a segment of the media asset of a first length, preparing, as the plurality of first packets are retrieved from the object storage, a plurality of second packets, each second packet of the plurality of second packets including a segment of the media asset of a second length, the second length being shorter than the first length, and transmitting, as the plurality of second packets are prepared, the plurality of second packets to the network device.
Method and system for displaying content relating to a subject matter of a displayed media program
Disclosed is a system and method for analyzing, by a server computer, closed captioning text associated with a media program being experienced by a user having a client device. The server computer obtains, based on the analyzing, a subject matter of a portion of the media program from the closed captioning text. The server computer constructs a query associated with the determined subject matter and submits the query to a computer network as a search query. The server computer receives, in response to the submitting of the query, content relating to the subject matter and measures an elapsed time period between the receiving of the content and the obtaining of the subject matter. If the elapsed time period is less than a predetermined period of time, the server computer communicates, to the client device, information related to the content.
VIDEO RECOMMENDATION METHOD AND APPARATUS, ELECTRONIC DEVICE, AND COMPUTER-READABLE MEDIUM
The present disclosure provides a video recommendation method and apparatus, an electronic device, and a computer-readable storage medium. The video recommendation method includes: transmitting a video obtaining request to a server in response to receiving a play trigger operation for target preview information in preview information displayed on a first display interface, the video obtaining request carrying identification information of a first video corresponding to the target preview information; receiving, from the server, the first video, a second video having a video similarity satisfying a first predetermined condition with the first video, and corresponding second video preview information; and playing the first video through a first region of a second display interface, and displaying a first predetermined number of pieces of preview information within the second video preview information through a second region of the second display interface, the second display interface including the first region and the second region.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR IMPROVED MEDIA ACQUISITION RESPONSE
A system and method providing a video content acquisition system adapted to determine content acquisition delays as a function of the source of the content. In particular, the system and method minimize delays experienced by users requesting video content via a client device. This is accomplished by tailoring the acquisition delay time associated with a particular request for content based upon the source of the signal from which the requested content is to be obtained (broadcast, satellite, cable, internet, etc.), as well as the type of signal requested and/or rate at which the source signal provides content (symbols/sec, bits/second, etc.). This minimizes the amount of time a user may mistakenly perceive a client device to be unresponsive or incapable of providing the requested video content.
