Methods, systems, and media for determining and presenting information related to embedded sound recordings are provided. In some embodiments, the method comprises: receiving a content item; extracting a sound recording from the content item; generating a melody fingerprint of the extracted sound recording; determining whether the melody fingerprint of the extracted sound recording matches one of a plurality of clusters of similar sounding sound recordings in a reference database, wherein each cluster in the plurality of clusters of similar sounding sound recordings is associated with ownership information based on a plurality of ownership information associated with each of the sound recordings in the cluster; in response to determining that the melody fingerprint of the extracted sound recording matches a cluster of similar sounding sound recordings, retrieving ownership information associated with the cluster; mapping the ownership information to the sound recording extracted from the content item; and causing an action to be performed on the content item based on the mapped ownership information

Various arrangements for authorizing content viewing are detailed herein. Sports wager data corresponding to a sports wager placed by a user may be provided to a television service provider system. The television service provider system can perform a lookup action to determine a content event based on the sports wager data. In response to the received sports wager data, a user account may be authorized using a rights scheme for access to a television channel on which the content event is scheduled to be broadcast. The television service provider system may deauthorized the user account for access to the television channel by removing the rights scheme such that access to the television channel on which the content event was broadcast is blocked after the event.

Systems and methods for quick start-up of playback in accordance with embodiments of the invention are disclosed. Media content may be encoded in a plurality of alternative streams and a quick start-up stream. The quick start-up stream may include media content that is encoded at a lower quality that the alternative streams and may be encrypted with a different, less secure encryption process than that of the alternative streams. During a start-up of playback, the playback device streams the media content from a quick start-up stream until a metric, such as a decryption key for the alternative streams is met. The device then streams the media content from the alternative streams in response to the metric being met.

One embodiment provides a method, including: receiving, at an information handling device, a request from a user to access a video feed; determining, using a processor, whether: an authorized association exists between the user and an object associated with the video feed; and a predetermined condition is satisfied; and granting, responsive to determining that the authorized associations exists and that the predetermined condition is satisfied, the user access to the video feed. A method may include receiving a consent-processing request at a consent management platform from a content-presentation device, and using an identifier string in the request to establish a secure interactive session configured for user selection of consent options associated with a particular consent package of the platform, where the package may include identifiers of consent features of a media distribution system that require user consent in order to be activated for the device. Example techniques related to polices for media playback systems. An example implementation involves a computing system receiving data representing a request to play back first audio tracks on one or more first playback devices of a first media playback system. The first media playback system is associated with a first subscriber to a streaming media service and the first media playback system is physically located in a first commercial establishment. The computing system determines that the first subscriber is associated with one or more first subscriber policies of the streaming media service and sends instructions to play back the first audio tracks on the one or more first playback devices according to the one or more first subscriber policies of the streaming media service.

This disclosure is directed to systems and methods for managing a group session for consuming media content across a plurality of devices.
