METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR SECURE OVER-THE-TOP LIVE VIDEO DELIVERY
A method is provided for managing key rotation (use of series of keys) and secure key distribution in over-the-top content delivery. The method provided supports supplying a first content encryption key to a content packaging engine for encryption of a first portion of a video stream. Once the first content encryption key has expired, a second content encryption key is provided to the content packaging engine for encryption of a second portion of a video stream. The method further provides for notification of client devices of imminent key changes, as well as support for secure retrieval of new keys by client devices. A system is also specified for implementing a client and server infrastructure in accordance with the provisions of the method.
MEDIA STREAMING
A media playback system for presenting to a user a composition of a plurality of media streams. It has a media selection component configured to receive a scenario dataset, to receive user input for selecting viewing times defining segments of media and composition selections, and to output a list of segments of media from the scenario dataset that are authorized to be viewed by the user. The system has a playback control component configured to retrieve from media storage at least the segments of media from the output list of segments, to decode the segments of media, and to compile composition instructions. The system has a media playback component configured to receive the rendered media and the composition instructions.
Claiming delayed live reference streams
A system and method for identifying unauthorized uploaded content that has been uploaded before a validated live reference stream has been ingested is disclosed herein. The live reference stream is compared against the indexed uploaded content repeatedly as the live reference stream is received. The matching process is done once per a time period until a match meeting a minimum match duration threshold is identified. The match is then determined to be unauthorized, and a claim is issued against the unauthorized uploaded content. The time period can be based on a utility based analysis that factors the computational costs of repeated matching versus the diminishing value of the live reference stream as time progresses.
DEVICE LOCATION DETERMINATION
In overview, the disclosed methods, devices, and systems enable the location of the first device to be verified. In particular, second location verification data is generated using a current location of the second device is provided to a first device by a second device which can be matched with first location verification data received by the first device from a server, the first location verification data is generated using a stored location of the first device. If the first and second location verification data match, the location of the first device is considered to have been verified.
Method for sharing and searching playlists
A method for making a playlist available to the public, in which the playlist comprises user-defined descriptor information. The user-defined descriptor information is entered as free form text or prose.
Digital rights management while streaming to display array
Aspects of the present disclosure are drawn to a digital rights management (DRM) server device for use with a stream of encoded audio/video data and an n×m array of client devices, n being a first positive integer, m being a second positive integer. Each client device being configured to display a respective display content, at least one of the n×m array of client devices being configured to play audio content. The DRM server device includes a memory and a processor configured to execute instructions stored on the memory. This causes the DRM server device to register the n×m array of client devices, establish digital rights for the registered n×m array of client device, receive the stream of encoded audio/video data, and provide the stream of encoded audio/video data to the registered n×m array of client devices based on the established digital rights.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR ALERTING USERS REGARDING AVAILABILITY OF UNCONSUMED CONTENT
Methods and systems are described for a media guidance application that limits the incentive for authorized users to share content with unauthorized users, while still allowing users to access content virtually anywhere. Specifically, the media guidance application allows an authorized user to receive only a portion of a media asset that he or she is authorized to access on a different device, after a designated time period, and/or when the remaining portion of the media asset is inaccessible.
MANAGING CONCURRENT CONTENT PLAYBACK
A content server may receive from a user device a request for a content asset and may send to the playback device a permit for accessing the content asset. The permit may be used by the content server in order to enforce a concurrency restriction, or a number of concurrent playbacks of one or more content assets desired or permitted by the playback device. In response to receiving a request for a content asset segment associated with a content asset, the content server may determine whether the number of permits currently granted to the playback device exceeds the number of desired or permitted accesses by the playback device, or a group of playback devices, to the content asset or one or more content assets. If so, then the content server may discontinue sending to the playback device any further content asset segments associated with that content asset.
MULTIMEDIA INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD AND APPARATUS, ELECTRONIC DEVICE, AND STORAGE MEDIUM
A multimedia information processing method includes: parsing multimedia information to separate an audio from the multimedia information; converting the audio to obtain a mel spectrogram corresponding to the audio; determining, according to the mel spectrogram corresponding to the audio, an audio feature vector corresponding to the audio; and determining, based on an audio feature vector corresponding to a source audio in source multimedia information and an audio feature vector corresponding to a target audio in target multimedia information, a similarity between the target multimedia information and the source multimedia information.
Method and apparatus for selection of content from a stream of data
A main stream contains successive content elements of video and/or audio information that encode video and/or audio information at a first data rate. A computation circuit (144) computes main fingerprints from the successive content elements. A reference stream is received having a second data rate lower than the first data rate. The reference stream defines a sequence of the reference fingerprints. A comparator unit (144) compares the main fingerprints with the reference fingerprints. The main stream is monitored for the presence of inserted content elements between original content elements, where the original content elements have main fingerprints that match successive reference fingerprints and the inserted content elements have main fingerprints that do not match reference fingerprints. Rendering of inserted content elements to be skipped. In an embodiment when more than one content element matches only one is rendered. In another embodiment matching is used to control zapping to or from the main stream. In another embodiment matching is used to control linking of separately received mark-up information such as subtitles to points in the main stream.
