Cross-media measurement device and method
A method of identifying media content presented on a display device includes determining a selected input source providing a video signal to the display device, and then selecting a first set of content identification rules when it is determined that the selected input source is a first input source, and selecting a second set of content identification rules when it is determined that the selected input source is a second input source. The method further comprises applying the selected first set or second set of content identification rules to the video signal in order to generate content identification data for the media content presented on the display device. Application of the content identification rules includes waiting for a trigger event and applying an algorithm to one or more frames of the video signal following the trigger event.
Methodology for equalizing systemic latencies in television reception in connection with games of skill played in connection with live television programming
A method of and system for handling latency issues encountered in producing real-time entertainment such as games of skill synchronized with live or taped televised events is described herein. There are multiple situations that are dealt with regarding latencies in receiving a television signal with respect to real-time entertainment based on the unfolding games played along with the telecasts. Systemic delays, arbitrarily imposed delays of a broadcast signal and variances in the precise broadcast times of taped television programs have to be equalized so as to provide fair entertainment.
VIDEO-BASED MAINTENANCE METHOD, MAINTENANCE TERMINAL, SERVER, SYSTEM AND STORAGE MEDIUM
A video based maintenance method, a maintenance terminal, a server, a system, and a storage medium. The method includes: receiving, by a maintenance terminal, a maintenance order sent by a server, wherein the maintenance order is generated according to a maintenance request sent by a client, and the maintenance order comprises customer information, faulty product information and fault information; and wherein the fault information comprises one or more troubleshooting points; receiving, by the maintenance terminal, a video stream sent by the client; and recording, by the maintenance terminal, troubleshooting information of the troubleshooting points, and sending the troubleshooting information to the server.
Methods and apparatus to collect distributed user information for media impressions and search terms
Methods and apparatus to collect distributed user information for media impressions and search terms are disclosed. An example method includes accessing, from a media device, a first identifier and a search term at a first server, the first identifier corresponding to at least one of the media device or a user of the media device, the search term associated with a search request, generating a second identifier based on the first identifier, sending the second identifier and the search term from the first server to a data collection server to facilitate the data collection server to logging the search request, and receiving user information associated with the search request from a database proprietor based on the second identifier.
Methods and apparatus to model on/off states of media presentation devices based on return path data
Methods and apparatus to model on/off states of media presentation devices based on return path data are disclosed. An apparatus includes a memory and processor circuitry to execute instructions stored in the memory to: generate a first probability distribution indicative of actual durations of panel tuning segments, the panel tuning segments corresponding to time periods during which panelists were exposed to first media; generate a second probability distribution indicative of modelled durations of modelled tuning segments, the modelled tuning segments corresponding to modified lengths of the panel tuning segments; and estimate a set-on time for a media set associated with an RPD device based on RPD tuning information and the first and second probability distributions, the RPD tuning information reported from the RPD device, the RPD tuning information indicative of a reported RPD tuning segment during which the RPD device was accessing second media.
METHODS, ARTICLES OF MANUFACTURE, AND APPARATUS TO EDIT TUNING DATA COLLECTED VIA AUTOMATED CONTENT RECOGNITION
Methods, apparatus, systems, and articles of manufacture are disclosed for editing tuning data collected via automated content recognition. Examples include determining whether a time conflict exists between first tuning data corresponding to a first tuning event and second tuning data corresponding to a second tuning event. Examples also include that, in response to determining that the time conflict exists, creating a third tuning event based on the first tuning data, the second tuning data, and one or more criteria. Examples also include that modifying at least one of the first tuning event or the second tuning event based on the third tuning event. Examples also include that crediting a media presentation by the presentation device based on edited tuning data, the edited tuning data including the first modified tuning event, the second modified tuning event, and the third tuning event.
System and method for movie segment bookmarking and sharing
Several ways are provided for a viewer of a movie to create a deep tag, that is, a bookmark for a segment of the movie. The deep tag can be associated with descriptive text and sent to an address provided by the viewer, either an e-mail address or an instant messaging address. Additionally, before the deep tag is created, it can be checked whether the content owner of the movie is known. If known, the content owner's rules, if any, regarding deep tagging are followed. If unknown, a set of registered content owners can be alerted of the presence of new content. When ownership of the new content is established, the already-created deep tags can be updated in accordance with the content owner's rules, if any, regarding deep tagging.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PROVIDING MULTI-PART PERSISTENT CONTENT
A method for providing multi-part persistent content includes requesting a content item from a content server, and receiving a first portion of a multi-part content item. The first portion of the multi-part content item is displayed to a user of the client device via a first application executed by the client device. The method also includes providing an authentication token and an identification of a state of execution of the multi-part content item to the content server, and subsequently requesting a second content item, the request comprising the authentication token. The method also includes receiving a second portion of the multi-part content item, the second portion of the multi-part content item displayed to the user of the client device via a different, second application executed by the client device. The second portion is selected by the content server based on the state of execution of the multi-part content item.
PROCESSING OF MULTIMEDIA CONTENT ON AN EDGE DEVICE
A system (100) for context driven processing of multimedia content (402) on an edge device (104) is presented. The system (100) includes an acquisition subsystem (404). Furthermore, the system (100) includes a processing subsystem (406) that includes a context aware artificial intelligence platform (408) configured to generate context characteristics based on user characteristics, edge device characteristics, and multimedia characteristics, retrieve a model (324, 412) based on the context characteristics, identify processing steps based on the model (324, 412), the context characteristics, or both, where the processing steps are used to perform context driven processing of input multimedia content (402) on the edge device (104), select, based on the model (324, 412), the context characteristics, or both, one or more target processing units (100) to perform the processing steps, and execute the processing steps on the selected target processing units (418, 420, 422, 424, 426) to generate improved output multimedia content. Media manipulation using cognitive state metric analysis
Data on a user interacting with a media presentation is collected at a client device. The data includes facial image data of the user. The facial image data is analyzed to extract cognitive state content of the user. One or more emotional intensity metrics are generated. The metrics are based on the cognitive state content. The media presentation is manipulated, based on the emotional intensity metrics and the cognitive state content. An engagement score for the media presentation is provided. The engagement score is based on the emotional intensity metric. A facial expression metric and a cognitive state metric are generated for the user. The manipulating includes optimization of the previously viewed media presentation. The optimization changes various aspects of the media presentation, including the length of different portions of the media presentation, the overall length of the media presentation, character selection, music selection, advertisement placement, and brand reveal time.
