20210368225 · 2021-11-25 ·

The present invention provides a method and a system for setting a video cover, which belongs to the field of video processing technology. The method includes: receiving, by a codec service cluster, a cover creation request carrying cover parameters of a target video, and obtaining, by the codec service cluster, a video file of the target video, wherein the cover parameters at least include a video segment identifier, a video segment rewind demand, and a video segment playback speed; according to the cover parameters of the target video and the video file of the target video, generating, by the codec service cluster, a cover video file of the target video; and feeding back, by the codec service cluster, the cover video file of the target video to enable a feedback receiver to set the video cover for the target video based on the cover video file. By adopting the present invention, the video cover can substantially effectively and intuitively display characteristics of the entire video, and the user can substantially accurately judge the video content through the video cover.

The present disclosure provides a method for quick start of live video streaming. The method includes: recognizing a type of a current player and invoking a quick start policy compatible with the type of the current player; during the execution of the quick start policy, retrieving a current system time and a quick start configuration time corresponding to the current player; based on the current system time and the quick start configuration time, determining a quick start index position in a target live video stream, and based on the quick start index position, determining a key frame index position in the target live video stream; and sending video data in the target live video stream starting from the key frame index position to the current player and discarding audio data in the target live video stream between the key frame index position and the quick start index position.

Delivery of different services through different client devices

A system that handles delivery of service(s) through a client device, includes an interactive service provider, a video service provider, and a client device. The interactive service provider inserts at least one of digital watermarks and digital fingerprints in non-programming media content. The video service provider transmits a media stream of the media content that includes programming media content and the non-programming media content. The client device detects at least one of the inserted digital watermarks and the digital fingerprints in the playback duration of the media content and renders overlay graphics on the media content. The client device activates at least one of input devices paired with the client device and the rendered overlay graphics. The client device further receives trigger responses over activated overlay graphics and displays an interactive view to enable delivery of service(s) in response to the trigger responses.

Methods (FIG. 900), systems and the like for determining which users have an interest in receiving media content and determining when to transmit the media content (i.e., which segment/portion of a media content to transmit) based on user characteristics that are related to the user's interest in the media content. Users/viewers are targeted/selected as candidates for receiving media content based on their interest in the event. Specific segments/portions of the event are identified that are of interest to the users/viewers, such that, real-time transmission (e.g., unicast, broadcast, multicast) of the event may be limited to only those segments/portions of the event that are of interest to the users/viewers.

The present disclosure provides event capture systems having one or more processors coupled to memory. The event capture system can identify a wager corresponding to a live event associated with a client device. The event capture system can identify a broadcast receiver device corresponding to the client device. The event capture system can generate recording instructions for the broadcast receiver device that cause the broadcast receiver device to initiate a recording of a broadcast of the live event. The event capture system can transmit the recording instructions to the broadcast receiver device to cause the broadcast receiver device to schedule a recording for the broadcast of the live event.

Data processing Method and device

Embodiments of the present application provide a data processing method and device. The method comprises: determining if a data packet satisfies a receipt condition based on a cache occupancy amount and a preset cache occupancy threshold, wherein the cache occupancy threshold is determined based on the priority level of a given data packet; and storing the data packet in the cache when the data packet satisfies the receipt condition. Embodiments of the present application ensure normal transmission of high priority data packets, thereby improving the transmission quality of streaming media data, and achieving an improvement in the broadcast quality of streaming media.

Content item transmission

A device, system and method are provided that may allot and manage bandwidth, such as bandwidth associated with broadcast and narrowcast distribution models for content item transmission, for example, in a content distribution network. The device, system and method may manage transmission based on the output information of the content items.

Allocation of video recording functionality

A system may receive a plurality of requests to record a plurality of programs. Based on these requests, resources may be provisioned for transcoding variable bit rate streams into constant bit rate streams. Resources may be provisioned based on assigning transcoding tasks to an existing set of deployed devices in which the transcoding tasks correspond to the plurality of requests. Resources may further be provisioned based on incrementally deploying an additional device to the existing set of deployed devices when the transcoding capacity reaches a certain level.

RESOURCE ALLOCATION IN COMMUNICATIONS NETWORKS USING PROBABILITY FORECASTS

A system (1000) is disclosed including a resource allocation optimization (RAO) platform (1002) for optimizing the allocation of resources in network (1004) for delivery of assets to user equipment devices (UEDs) (1012). The RAO platform (1002) determines probabilities that certain asset delivery opportunities (ADOs) will occur within a selected time window and uses these probabilities together with information concerning values of asset delivery to determine an optimal use of asset deliveries. In this regard, the RAO platform (1004) received historical data from repository (1014) that facilitates calculation of probabilities that ADOs will occur. Such information may be compiled based on asset delivery records for similar network environments in the recent past or over time.

Delivery of different services through different client devices

A system that handles delivery of a service through a client device or a secondary device paired with the client device, includes an interactive service provider and the client device. The interactive service provider inserts at least one of digital watermarks, fingerprints, and trigger identifiers at event opportunities in media content. The client device detects at least one of the inserted digital watermarks, the digital fingerprints, and the inserted trigger identifiers in the media content. The client device further renders overlay graphics on the media content and activates at least one of input devices in vicinity of the client device or the rendered overlay graphics. The client device receives trigger responses over an activated overlay graphic, via the activated input devices. The client device further displays an interactive view on the client device, to enable delivery of services in response to the received trigger responses.
