An example method includes receiving a selection of a media content, applying customized parental control rules associated with a user to the media content, providing a notification to apply a parental control associated with the customized parental control rules to the media content, receiving a confirmation to apply the parental control, and controlling the media content in accordance with the parental control that is applied.

Systems and methods are described to selectively stream content based on parental control ratings. At a client device, a manifest identifying sequential segments of a media asset and versions of a particular segment of the sequential segments may be received, and a graphical user interface may be generated for display to simultaneously depict a respective portion of each respective version of the particular segment and respective selectable options associated with each respective version of the particular segment. A selection of a first option may be received that is associated with a first version of the particular segment, and during playing of the media asset, in response to determining that the particular segment is the next segment to be played, the first version of the particular segment may be requested from the server.

A method for operating a user terminal providing a video slide service includes uploading a UGC video to a server; receiving, from the server, scene metadata information for each reproduction section corresponding to the UGC video; generating a video slide file based on the scene metadata information for each reproduction section; displaying an item corresponding to the video slide file; and displaying a page screen composed of representative image information and subtitle information, for each reproduction section of the UGC video in response to a user selection on the item.

A facility for generating and displaying information regarding the packaging of individual media asset files associated with multiple scheduled presentations of interstitial media assets is provided. Scheduling information is received regarding future scheduled media presentations for each of a plurality of media assets via one or more content channels. Based at least in part on the received scheduling information, one or more package files are generated such that each package file includes a plurality of media asset files, each corresponding to at least one of the future scheduled media presentations, for distribution to a plurality of distinct media receivers. Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture are disclosed to validate reference media assets in media identification systems. Example apparatus disclosed herein are to identify respective instances of media represented by corresponding candidate media resources to be verified, and cause the respective instances of media to be presented and monitored by corresponding ones of a plurality of virtual machines. Disclosed example apparatus are also to perform a comparison of a first one of the candidate media resources to a corresponding test media resource generated by a first one of the virtual machines that played and monitored a first one of the instances of media represented by the first one of the candidate media resources. Disclosed example apparatus are further to validate the first one of the candidate media resources based on the comparison.

A computer-implemented method for identifying candidate videos for audio experiences may include (i) identifying a video with audio content that is a candidate for an audio-primary user experience that enables users to consume the video by listening to the audio content without watching visual content of the video, (ii) determining, at least in part by analyzing the video via a machine learning algorithm, that the audio content of the video is suitable for the audio-primary user experience, and (iii) presenting the audio content of the video to at least one user via an interface designed for the audio-primary user experience in response to determining that the audio content of the video is suitable for the audio-primary user experience. Systems, methods, and devices relating to determining an introduction portion in a video program are described herein. A method may determine first and second hard-matching pairs of video segments in first and second video content such that video fingerprints of the first hard-matching pair match and video fingerprints of the second hard-matching pair also match. The method may classify a third pair of video segments in the first and second video content, sequentially between the first and second hard-matching pairs, as a soft-matching pair of video segments of an introduction portion. The method may use the classification of the third pair of video segments as a soft-matching pair to determine a model configured to determine that a pair of video segments in two video content items are a soft-matching pair of video segments of an introduction portion.

Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, identify and classify the various video pathways in an interactive video based on the content of these video pathways. A video comprising multiple video segments is obtained from a video library. Each video segment is directly linked to at least one other video segment and the multiple video segments comprise a beginning segment, intermediate segments (including interactive segments), and final segments. Multiple video pathways in the video are identified. For each identified video pathway, classification data is generated and each such video pathway is then stored in the video library. When the video is selected from a particular category of the video library, the video segments of a video pathway that has a classification which is the same as the classification associated with the particular category, is then displayed.

A method for automatically replacing a first type of content associated with a real-time broadcast with a second type of content is provided. The method may include automatically parsing media content associated with the real-time broadcast and assigning timecode to the parsed media content. The method may further include determining whether the parsed media content includes the first type of content. The method may further include, in response to determining the parsed media content includes the first type of content, automatically determining a context associated with the first type of content. The method may further include automatically identifying the second type of content that matches the determined context. The method may also include, automatically replacing the first type of content in the parsed media content with the second type of content. The method may further include automatically presenting the real-time broadcast with the second type of content.
