Text-driven editor for audio and video assembly
The disclosed technology is a system and computer-implemented method for assembling and editing a video program from spoken words or soundbites. The disclosed technology imports source audio/video clips and any of multiple formats. Spoken audio is transcribed into searchable text. The text transcript is synchronized to the video track by timecode markers. Each spoken word corresponds to a timecode marker, which in turn corresponds to a video frame or frames. Using word processing operations and text editing functions, a user selects video segments by selecting corresponding transcribed text segments. By selecting text and arranging that text, a corresponding video program is assembled. The selected video segments are assembled on a timeline display in any chosen order by the user. The sequence of video segments may be reordered and edited, as desired, to produce a finished video program for export.
Apparatus and method for inserting advertisement in a broadcasting system
Provided is an apparatus and method for inserting an advertisement in a broadcasting system based on adaptive streaming. To this end, content related information for advertisement content is generated by an advertisement providing server and a content transmitting server. A client is informed of an update required time of the content related information to receive new content related information from the content transmitting server. Therefore, the advertisement content can be reproduced in a set period.
Personalized Content Ranking Using Content Received from Different Sources in a Video Delivery System
A video delivery service may display different content on an interface, such as ad campaign content, media program campaign content, and recommendation content. For example, the video delivery service may communicate with an ad engine to determine ad campaign content that is available and ad campaign scores to rate the ad campaign content. The video delivery service may also communicate with a media program campaign engine to determine any media program campaign content for the user and media program campaign scores to rate the media program campaign content. Then, the video delivery service may communicate with a recommendation engine to rate the relevance of the ad campaign content or media program campaign content to the user. After receiving the ad campaign content, media program campaign content, and recommendation content, the video delivery service determines which of the ad campaign content, media program campaign content, and recommendation content to display in the interface.

Approaches, techniques, and mechanisms are disclosed for the collection, distribution, and/or reporting of media content. According to an embodiment, media content items from one or more content providers are ingested into a content distribution system implemented by one or more server computer devices. These items of media content may comprise a variety of constituent elements, such as one or more video data units, one or more audio data units, descriptive metadata, subtitle units, thumbnails, or other information, which may be ingested all at once, or separately over time. Items may be processed using various workflows to refine content item components and/or generate new content items. Various publishing rules may be utilized to determine when the system is ready to publish a content item and distribute the item to client devices. Clients may request content items from various published listings, or search for content items by metadata and/or subtitles.

System and method for all-in-one content stream in content-centric networks
One embodiment of the present invention provides a system for assembling a single content stream that enables downloading of a content collection using the single content stream over a network. During operation, the system obtains the content collection that includes a plurality of content components, and generates a manifest for the content collection. A respective entry in the manifest corresponds to a content component. The system assembles the single content stream by including the manifest followed by the plurality of content components. The manifest and the content components are packaged into objects under a same namespace, thereby facilitating a requester requesting one or more content components within the content collection using interests under the same namespace.
Unobtrusively enhancing video content with extrinsic data
The playback of video content upon a display is enhanced through the unobtrusive presentation of extrinsic data upon the same display. A video content feature is rendered on a display. It is determined whether to present extrinsic data relevant to a current time in the video content feature based at least in part on appearance control metadata. A graphical element presenting at least a portion of the extrinsic data is rendered on the display while the video content feature is also being rendered on the display in response to determining to present the extrinsic data.
Media stream generation based on a category of user expression
A method includes receiving, at a user device from a media server, a media stream that includes a group of segments of media content associated with a user-selected category. The group of segments includes a first segment corresponding to a portion of a first program and a second segment corresponding to a portion of a second program. The method also includes receiving, at the user device, user input during playback of the media stream, the user input indicating the first segment. The method also includes sending data based on the user input to the media server. The method further includes receiving, at the user device from the media server, a modified stream based on the user input. The first segment is replaced by an entirety of the first program in the modified stream.
