Content Rental System
A content rental system includes one data store for storing rental content. The content rental system also includes a content server for transferring content to one viewing device based upon a received request. The content server is further configured to authorize the transfer of the content from the viewing device to another viewing device.
SECURE DIGITAL DATA COLLECTION
Systems and methods for generating certified images and incident reports are disclosed. An image capture device can be used to capture an image and integrate metadata from camera sensors as well as other ancillary device sensors into the image. The image and its metadata can then be certified upon a check that the image and its metadata are authentic and unaltered. The image and its metadata can then be included in or as a part of an incident or other report describing an incident or event such as an accident or a crime. The image and/or incident report may be maintained at a cloud-based server for viewing, authorized editing, and subsequent distribution.
Web-hosted video recording and associated systems and methods
Systems and methods for loginless video recording from a third-party website viewed on a user device are provided. The present invention enables users to record a video while browsing a third-party website without the need for installing recording software or logging into a recording service, thus paving the way to anonymous online recording and messaging. In one embodiment, the method, executable by a recording server, includes receiving a signed token associated with a user access request to a third-party server; receiving from the user device an iframe request including the signed token, in response to a user recording request; verifying a signature of the signed token; transmitting to the user device code for generating an iframe for display on the third-party website at the user device; receiving from the iframe a session validation request; generating a recording session; and receiving from the iframe a recording action request.
METHODS AND APPARATUS TO DETERMINE A UNIQUE AUDIENCE FOR INTERNET-BASED MEDIA
An example apparatus disclosed herein includes at least one memory, instructions, and at least one processor to execute the instructions to: receive first HyperLogLog (HLL) data from a first server of a first database proprietor and second HyperLogLog (HLL) data from a second server of a second database proprietor, the first HLL data including obfuscated first user impression data and the second HLL data including obfuscated second user impression data; generate union HLL data based on the first HLL data from the first database proprietor and the second HLL data from the second database proprietor by performing a union of data sets of the obfuscated first user impression data represented in the first HLL data and the obfuscated second user impression data represented in the second HLL data; and determine a total number of deduplicated unique audience members based on the union HLL data generated by the vector analyzer.
SMARTPHONE-BASED CONDITIONAL ACCESS SYSTEM
Techniques for a smartphone-based conditional access (CA) system are described. In some embodiments, a headend in the CA system obtains a security profile associated with a pair of receiving devices used by a user, e.g., a first device (e.g., a smartphone) and a second device (e.g., a set-top-box or a TV). The headend dynamically regulates user access to requested media content during each entitlement period by assigning and distributing separate keys to the first and second device based on the security profile. The headend also uses the distributed keys to protect the media content before broadcasting. On the receiving end, one receiving device receives the media content and determines whether it is decryptable by the device. If decryptable, the receiving device (e.g., the set-top-box/TV) decrypts the media content using the keys assigned by the headend. Otherwise, the receiving device forwards the media content to the pairing device for decryption.
Prioritized content encryption for rapid breach response
Techniques for rapid video on demand (VOD) media content breach response are described. In some embodiments, during content preparation, a server generates an encrypted media content item by generating a first encrypted portion using a first key derived from a first seed that is of a first type and generating a second encrypted portion using a second key derived from a second seed that is of a second type. In some embodiments, the server classifies the first portion in a first category (e.g., a prioritized category) and the second portion in a second category (e.g., a non-prioritized category). During a breach response, the server repairs the encrypted media content item by re-encrypting portions in the first category, e.g., re-encrypting the first encrypted portion using a replacement key derived from a replacement seed that is of the first type, and updating encryption metadata.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR MAINTAINING SECURITY OF VIDEO DATA
Disclosed is a method for maintaining security of video data of a security device. The method comprises transmitting an access request to decryption server, receiving certificate information comprising a public key arbitrarily selected by the decryption server when the access request is approved, generating a symmetric key for encrypting video data, encrypting the symmetric key using the public key, and transmitting the encrypted symmetric key to the decryption server.
METHODS AND APPARATUS TO DETERMINE A UNIQUE AUDIENCE FOR INTERNET-BASED MEDIA
Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture are disclosed to generate measures of unique audiences for Internet-based media. An example apparatus disclosed herein includes at least one memory, instructions, and at least one processor. The processor to execute the instructions to: receive first HyperLogLog (HLL) data from a first server of a first database proprietor and second HyperLogLog (HLL) data from a second server of a second database proprietor, the first HLL data including obfuscated first user impression data and the second HLL data including obfuscated second user impression data; generate union HLL data based on the first HLL data from the first database proprietor and the second HLL data from the second database proprietor by performing a union of data sets of the obfuscated first user impression data represented in the first HLL data and the obfuscated second user impression data represented in the second HLL data; and determine a total number of deduplicated unique audience members based on the union HLL data generated by the vector analyzer.
CONTENT PROTECTION
Devices, servers, systems and methods for content protection are provided. Disclosed embodiments improve temporal granularity of controlling access to the protected content and increase resilience against attacks attempting to prevent re-evaluation of conditions of access. Enforcement of re-evaluation may be based on the receipt and/or verification of tokens. In some embodiments, re-evaluation is enforced by periodically rendering content keys required for content decryption unuseable and/or clearing content keys already in use.
