SYSTEM FOR CONTROLLING DEVICE, DIGITAL DEVICE, AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING SAME
A digital device and a method for controlling the digital device are disclosed in this specification. Herein, according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention, a targeted device being controlled by a control command received through at least one or more controlling devices includes a first receiving unit receiving content, a second receiving unit receiving a voice signal or text data respective to the voice signal from the controlling device, a decoder decoding the content, a processing unit processing the text data, a controlling unit identifying whether or not text data received from the processing data include a control command, controlling an output of a voice interface in response to a reception of the identified text data, configuring a result screen respective to the processed data and controlling an output of the result screen, and performing control operations so as to execute functions corresponding to the outputted result screen, and an outputting unit outputting the decoded content, the voice interface and its result screen or its function execution screen.
Systems and methods for playing media assets stored on a digital video recorder while a customer service representative is online
Improved technical functionality is provided to dynamically select and seamlessly play advertisements immediately before playing of a recorded program upon selection of the recorded program for playing, or upon other detected events and conditions associated with the set-top-box (STB) or user. In some embodiments, this is performed by using metadata which may be delivered to and stored on a digital video recorder (DVR) prior to recording the program, providing a technical solution to enable opportunities for additional advertisement impressions. Playing of the advertisement may also or instead occur upon the recorded program finishing playing. Thus, the technical solution provides the additional opportunity for the content creator and/or the satellite television or cable service provider to sell advertising spots in addition to those already sold for breaks within the recorded program.
Zone Group Control
Example techniques relate to a loss of control of a playback queue. An example implementation involves a playback device receiving, from a native controller, an instruction to add audio tracks to a queue, where, in a first mode associated with the native controller, the playback device is configured to play back from the queue. While the audio tracks are in the queue, the playback device receives, from a media player application associated with a particular wireless protocol, an instruction to play back a media item. In response, the playback device is configured to play back in a second mode associated with the particular wireless protocol, where, in the second mode, the queue is not in use. While playing back the media item, the playback device detects a loss of control by the media player application and configures the playback device to play back in the first mode.

Program recording webification
A method of providing a program recording to a user includes: accessing an application service provider that includes a program database via a first connection over a network with a user processor; selecting, with the user processor, a program recording to be received at the location of the user processor; providing the program recording selected with the user processor, at the location of the application service provider or a third location different from the location of the application service provider and the location of the user processor; and delivering the selected program recording to the location of the user processor.
Content interaction methods and systems employing portable devices
A portable device, such as a cell phone, is used to “forage” media content from a user's environment. For example, it may listen to a television viewed by a traveler in an airport lounge. By reference to digital watermark or other data extracted from the content, the device can identify the television program, and enable a variety of actions. For example, the device may instruct a DVR to record the remainder of the television program—or determine when the program will be rebroadcast, and instruct the DVR to record the program in its entirety at that later time. The device may also identify content that preceded (or follows) the foraged content. Thus, a user who tunes-in just at the end of an exciting sporting event can capture one of the following commercials, identify the preceding program, and download same for later viewing. In other aspects, a cell phone can be used as a “second screen,” through which a user can interact with ambient content—such as reviewing electronic program guide data, or enjoying interactive television features. A great variety of other functions and arrangements are also detailed.

System and method of identifying networked device for establishing a P2P connection
A barcode corresponding to an identification of the networked device is attached on a networked device, and the identification is associated with an IP address of the networked device in a server, wherein a terminal device captures the barcode for transmitting a connection request to the server; and the server obtains the identification code of the networked device according to the connection request, wherein the IP address of the networked device is obtained according to identification code for establishing a point to point (P2P) connection between the terminal device and the networked device.
