ADAPTIVE CONTENT DELIVERY
20220147697 · 2022-05-12 ·

Methods and systems for providing and managing content are disclosed. An example method can comprise receiving at least a portion of a content item and determining a timing attribute associated with at least a portion of the content item. An example method can also comprise determining a delivery information attribute based on the timing attribute. The delivery information attribute can comprise at least one of a time duration to process at least a portion of the content item and a time duration to receive or transmit at least a portion of the content item. An example method can also comprise receiving an update to the content item based on the delivery information attribute.

Reproduction control of scene description

A media rendering device and method for reproduction control of scene description is provided. The media rendering device retrieves media content that includes a set of filmed scenes and text information. The text information includes video description information and timing information. The video description information describes a filmed scene in the set of filmed scenes. The media rendering device further extracts the timing information to reproduce the video description information from the text information of the filmed scene. The media rendering device further controls the reproduction of the video description information in either a textual representation or in a textual and audio representation at a first-time interval indicated by the extracted timing information of the filmed scene.

LOW-LATENCY CONTENT DELIVERY OVER A PUBLIC NETWORK

A transcoding engine communicatively coupled to a broadcast source receiver for receiving the broadcast stream, decoding the broadcast stream, extracting and storing the PSIP tables from the broadcast stream and inserting metadata into the decoded broadcast stream, encoding the broadcast stream and the metadata, and attaching the PSIP tables to the encoded broadcast stream. A listener server device is communicatively coupled to the transcoding engine for receiving the encoded broadcast stream and establishing a low-latency tunnel with a caller client over a public internet and providing the encoded broadcast stream to the caller client through the low-latency tunnel.

Frame conversion for adaptive streaming alignment

Methods for generating an AV bitstream (e.g., an MPEG-2 transport stream or bitstream segment having adaptive streaming format) such that the AV bitstream includes at least one video I-frame synchronized with at least one audio I-frame, e.g., including by re-authoring at least one video or audio frame (as a re-authored I-frame or a re-authored P-frame). Typically, a segment of content of the AV bitstream which includes the re-authored frame starts with an I-frame and includes at least one subsequent P-frame. Other aspects are methods for adapting such an AV bitstream, audio/video processing units configured to perform any embodiment of the inventive method, and audio/video processing units which include a buffer memory which stores at least one segment of an AV bitstream generated in accordance with any embodiment of the inventive method.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS TO OPTIMIZE MUSIC PLAY IN A SCROLLING NEWS FEED

Systems, methods, and non-transitory computer readable media are configured to receive metadata for audio content associated with an audio content item for presentation in a news feed to be displayed on a screen of a computing device associated with a user. The metadata is transformed for display in the audio content item. The transformed metadata is displayed in the audio content item. In addition, systems, methods, and non-transitory computer readable media are configured to present an audio content item in a news feed to be displayed on a screen of a computing device associated with a user. An input by the user for scrolling the news feed and the audio content item on the screen is received. A pop out player is presented in response to disappearance of the audio content item from the screen based on the scrolling.

Enabling interactive control of live television broadcast streams
11172262 · 2021-11-09 · ·

The disclosure provides a method for interactive control of live television broadcast streams. The method includes receiving a streaming live media feed (103) from a television broadcaster (102) and displaying an overlay (212) on media content (M) of the streaming live media feed (103). The overlay (212) includes a play control option unassociated with an intermediary feed source of the live media feed between the television broadcaster and the media device (115). The method further includes receiving a first selection input of the play control option and determining that the selection input corresponds to a play mode at a first location within the media content (M) of the streaming live media feed by determining that a first fingerprint (128, 208, 306) fails to match a second fingerprint (128, 208, 306). Furthermore, the method includes overlaying targeted overlay content on the streaming live media feed.

Mobile device content provisioning adjustments based on wireless communication channel bandwidth condition

A mobile device includes a display, at least one sensor, and a wireless transceiver. The mobile device also includes control circuitry coupled to the display, the at least one sensor, and the wireless transceiver. The control circuitry is configured to obtain content primitives from the at least one sensor, to perform content provisioning operations to obtain content based at least in part on the content primitives, and to display the obtained content on the display, wherein at least some of the content is virtual content. In response to a bandwidth condition of the wireless communication channel being less than a threshold, the control circuitry is configured to perform adjusted content provisioning operations that involve increasing an amount of image processing operations performed by the mobile device to obtain the content.

METHODS, SYSTEMS, AND MEDIA FOR TRANSFERRING PLAYBACK OF MEDIA CONTENT

Methods, systems, and media for transferring playback of media content are provided. In some implementations, the method comprises: receiving a request to initiate a mirroring session in which a tabbed window including a page having a plurality of media content items is rendered on a computing device and transmitted as a video stream to a display device that is in communication with the computing device over a local area network; encoding the video stream including the tabbed window and the plurality of media content items; transmitting the encoded video stream to the display device via the local area network; determining that a user of the tabbed window on the display device intends to view a media content item from the plurality of media content items on the page; inhibiting presentation of the media content item on the computing device; causing the media content item to be decoded and presented on the display device; detecting an event associated with presentation of the media content item on the display device; and, in response to detecting the event associated with presentation of the media content item on the display device, causing the mirroring session to resume.
