Systems and methods for virtual interactions
Systems and methods for virtual interactions are described. One or more users can view or listen to media, react to the media and share such media experience virtually with others. The media experience can take place synchronously, asynchronously or both.
Video indexing, search and delivery platforms, methods, systems and apparatuses
A video ingest, search and delivery solution is provided in which videos and their associated metadata are ingested based on ingest criteria. Moments in the metadata are identified by parsing comments in the metadata for comments that reference a time in the video. Moments are recorded with the referenced time and the text of the comment. Videos are rated and may be delivered to users based at least in part on the rating. Moments may be displayed together with the video by displaying the text of moments at the associated time in the video as the video is being delivered. The text of moment records may be searched based on search parameters received form a user to identify videos to deliver to the user.
Metrics-based timeline of previews
Systems and methods are herein disclosed for displaying a smart preview of video content. A first claimed embodiment includes receiving video content. A system can then detect an event taking place during the video content having an event time. The system can then receive a request to display a preview of the video content. The system can then display the preview of the video content beginning at the event time.
Systems and methods for generating composite media using distributed networks
A distributed systems and methods for generating composite media including receiving a media context that defines media that is to be generated, the media context including: a definition of a sequence of media segment specifications and, an identification of a set of remote devices. For each media segment specification, a reference segment may be generated and transmitted to at least one remote device. A media segment may be received from each of the remote device, the media segment having been recorded by a camera. Verified media sequences may replace the corresponding reference segment. The media segments may be aggregated and an updated sequence of media segments may be defined. An instance of the media context that includes a subset of the updated sequence of media segments may then be generated.
Methods and Apparatus to Estimate Ratings for Media Assets Using Social Media
Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture to estimate ratings for media assets using social media are disclosed. An example method includes accessing media exposure data and social media activity data corresponding to a plurality of media assets in a media bundle, the media assets included in the media bundle having audience demographics that overlap with a first media asset, determining a first credibility factor for the first media asset and average exposure for social media activity count values for respective ones of the media assets in the media bundle based on the media exposure data and the social media activity data, and applying the first credibility factor to an average exposure per social media activity count value determined for the first media asset to estimate the ratings for the first media asset.
Systems and methods for providing a program as a gift using an interactive application
A television message system is provided that allows users at user television devices that are connected to a television distribution facility to transmit messages to each other relating to a television program or other suitable subject. The television message system permits users to participate in evaluations, contests, promotions, and surveys related to a television program while watching that television program. The television message system also permits users to compose and send a message to a television program entity. Users can send massages through the television message system to users at personal computers who are connected to the user's television distribution facility through a communications network. The television message system also allows a user to purchase a gift related to television programming for a recipient. The gift may be an electronic gift certificate for pay-per-view programming. The television message system may be based on an interactive television program guide or a set-top box application implemented on a set-top box.
Video labeling method and apparatus, device, and computer-readable storage medium
This application provides a video labeling method performed by a server, and the method includes: receiving a video extraction instruction transmitted by a terminal, and obtaining a to-be-extracted video according to the video extraction instruction; extracting event information from video frames of the to-be-extracted video; forming at least one event information flow by using the event information; capturing, based on the at least one event information flow, at least one first clip that meets a plot trigger condition from the to-be-extracted video and obtaining a plot labeling tag of the at least one first clip; and transmitting the at least one first clip and the corresponding plot labeling tag to the terminal, wherein the terminal displays the at least one first clip and the corresponding plot labeling tag in a preset display region of a display interface in which the to-be-extracted video is displayed.
Method for dynamically training a system to determine an age rating of media content
A system and method for dynamically training a system to determine an age rating for media content. An exemplary method includes obtaining age rating data for a plurality of territories; determining, based on the age rating data, a similarity vector relating to the target territory; determining, for the similarity vector, a territory associated with a highest prediction score; in response to determining that the territory associated with the highest prediction score is not the source territory, generating a training dataset comprising the age rating data for the target territory, the source territory, and the territory associated with the highest prediction score; and executing a machine learning model, trained by the training dataset, to output an age rating for a content item in the target territory based on an age rating for the content item in the source territory.
Systems and methods for providing content recommendations
Systems and associated methods are described for providing content recommendations. The system receives a plurality of sets of range values, each of which corresponds to a respective one of a plurality of parameters for recommending the content. The system selects different values within each of the plurality of sets of range values over time and provides a plurality of content recommendations to users based on the selected different values. The system then analyze users' behavior in response to the provided plurality of content recommendations. The system further updates at least one set of range values based on the analyzed users' behavior.
Interactive video distribution system and video player utilizing a client server architecture
An interactive video distribution system and video player are described. A client server arrangement may be used for providing a video player and video content to a client device. The video player may display navigation images enabling navigation to specific portions of the video content by activating a corresponding navigation image. The video player may also enable the sharing of a segment of the video with other video players, enabling the video players to play the streamed segment of the video without having to play the entire video, thereby reducing network bandwidth usage. The video player may be embeddable. The server may associate searchable tags with respective video segments.
